Star Trek New Horizons/New Civilizations compatibility assistance
Hi everyone!

Thanks @tassadarpaladin for the mod and I hope I can be of assistance to the people who would like to make this mod function with the Star Trek mods available.

To start off, this mod works perfectly fine with the Star Wars mods, both Fallen Republic and New Dawn, some of the functionality will be lost or pointless considering how these mods create their own resources, with their own unique identifier. Unless you go in their files and look those up, those resources will not be provided by any cheat-mod, unless the creator looked up those identifiers and added them in his/her own code.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the actual solution, be aware that this may get a little technical but I will be offering both a temporary/incomplete fix AND the actual issue making your game crash upon selection of your empire capital.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
The file in question and where to find it:
-------------------------------------------------------------------

The file you are looking for is "tass_cheat_decisions.txt". For those who do not know how to get to it, the file-path should look similar to this (If you use steam) =
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\682851228

Inside you will find a few other folders though the file you are looking for is going to be under "common", then "decisions". Or, you can browse to the folder and search for the name specifically in your search-bar.

Removing this file completely will not harm your game or your pc AND will fix the crashing, however it will remove the menu and other decisions from being selectable on your capital, or any planet for that matter.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
How to fix the crashing:
-------------------------------------------------------------------

You can fix this by using any form of text-editor so long as you make sure it keeps the formatting. ( preferably notepad++, formatting being the indents and tab-spaces).

UPDATE:
After having had feedback from the creator, I was informed that my debugging-method was a tad flawed and the only code that needs removal is the lines involving the precursor clue's cheat.

All you need to do is remove the section called = decision_tass_cheat_precursor_clue
Line 79 to line 180.

Once you boot up your game, you should notice that you can freely select your capital without having another hard-crash. As Tassadar stated, it's the removal of any precursor data by the New Civilizations developers that makes the cheat tool try and reference data that isn't there anymore.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Final notes
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this helps you out and I wish all of you the best of luck! I'm always willing to answer more specifics or assist where I can, I could also use any and all feedback considering this fixed it for me personally.

Letting me know if it solved your problem would be greatly appreciated and if it doesn't, please make sure to link a screenshot of your edited .txt file for reference and I'll gladly try and help figure out why!

Peace ya'll, take care ;)

EDIT1: Grammar and formatting

EDIT2: Amended bits and pieces after feedback from tassadarpaladin, new fix added.

So it's the decision part. Well this is tricky since it's the best way to trigger an event pointing to a specific planet or system.

You can upload the error record just after the game crush. The file location is here:
"C:\Users\User Name\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\logs\error.log"

It will help to narrow down the problem.

I have done a little dig of it. I find that if you have two colony started, only the capital will crush the game. So it's not the whole decision part, only one or two of them.

After this I've figure out it might be the "Precursor" decision since the ST New Horizons seems wipe all precursor part out from the original game. So this decison is trying to use something not exists as trigger, then crush the game.

u guys can delete the whole "decision_tass_cheat_precursor_clue" part in this file (from line 79 to line 180):

"\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\682851228\common\decisions\tass_cheat_decisions.txt"

This should not crush the game when u click the capital.

I haven't test it in ST New Civilizations yet but should work too.

I can personally confirm that removing the lines you mentioned fixed the issue for New Civilizations too. I'll amend my original post!
