Thank you for taking the time to help me. I'm all about learning new stuff, so I'm off to the asset editor to see what kind of damage I can do. LOL j/k Thanks again. Have a great weekend.
KingLeno  [author] 27 Dec, 2019 @ 2:17pm
@lemonsterog but again tho, if you want a quick and easy solution....search your computer for "1577478368" (this is the numbers that appear in the URL for this workshop item, and all workshop items will have a unique number). Open the folder > delete the Ploppable Rico file. This takes less than 20 seconds.

Then when you have more time and patience, follow the previous steps and learn how to open a workshop asset in the editor.
KingLeno  [author] 27 Dec, 2019 @ 2:13pm
@lemonsterog ...typing that, it SEEMS like a lot and maybe even confusing. But in fact, it took me a lot longer to type that reply than it would have for me to follow the same steps, upload the renamed file to dropbox, and send you the link. It takes less than 2 minutes to do (not including loading time). But it's a much much easier way to customize assets and I assume there are other assets you'd want to do the same for. I highly recommend you learn some basic asset editor steps.

I even made a tutorial for the Official Cities Skylines youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snqr1a3qlBk on this very thing
KingLeno  [author] 27 Dec, 2019 @ 2:07pm
@lemonsterog i don't know the name of the file name specifically. but it may be "mitchell heights". You can search this number "1577478368" in your steam folder on your computer and it will have the file in there.

It's very easy, just open the asset editor up>load the file name>make no changes and just save the asset but give it a different file name and different asset name.

if you've never used the editor before, and you use a ton of mods and assets, you probably want to open the game in " --noWorkshop " mode, in which it disables all assets and mods. When you find the *.cpr file in the folder, copy and paste it to your local cities skylines asset folder. There you can open up the file in the asset editor in noWorkshop mode (assets and mods make the editor incredibly slow), there you can save the file, give it a different name, and delete the original one from your asset folder
LemonsterOG 27 Dec, 2019 @ 12:44pm
Never mind. I'll just place them manually.
LemonsterOG 27 Dec, 2019 @ 12:26pm
@KingLeno Thank you sooo much for the reply. I tried to change the settings in Ploppable RICO, but it still won't appear in the Building Themes mod for use as a growable. I've never used the asset editor, but you make it sound pretty easy to load it, change it, then use the changed file locally. I think that's the way I'd like to go. Can you tell me how to find the asset in order to load it into the asset editor or does it appear there automatically because I'm subscribed to it. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.
KingLeno  [author] 27 Dec, 2019 @ 12:02pm
@lemonsterog no, that would be completely pointless to upload the same asset with absolutely no changes. You can 1) load the building in the asset editor, save the building and changes the name. 2) You can search your assset folder for "900939845" and delete the RICO file (but if i ever updated the asset in the future, the RICO would return, but that's unlikely) 3) I think there may be an option in the rico settings to remove the rico settings. I don't know tho.

I think buildings with RICO settings continue to grow, just not with building themes. again, idk tho because that seems to change all the time, haven't played the game in forever.
LemonsterOG 27 Dec, 2019 @ 11:09am
@KingLeno Is there any chance a non-RICO version of these can be created? I use Ploppable RICO, but I'd like these to be able to grow.
Lenny_Froggins 18 Apr, 2019 @ 12:39pm
@kingleno gotta say thanks for making some of my favorite stuff in the game. You really help bring small town America to life. These work great next to my Trailer Park and the Low Residential.
Lenny_Froggins 18 Apr, 2019 @ 12:38pm
@dannyman Get the Theme Manager mod and spend the time setting up themes (or go download Themes with assets like American Eclectic).

Considering the hours you can burn in this game, spending one of them setting up all your themes is not bad. Use Theme Manager mod in-game by clicking a district name, then Theme Manager on bottom right. For instance: I have several different themes for various levels of affluence. I made a Trailer Park theme that works really well, as well as a Middle Suburban theme, as well as Am Ecl. I am more a small town-rural builder, but you could make a theme for "Medium Density Apartments" and use districts to grow them.

One downside of this is that the game LOVES to spawn duplicates next to each other if your theme does not have enough buildings. Works great for stuff like apartments, homes, trailers...but not that great for hands-off Commercial unless you like seeing 3 What-A-burgers in a row.

@jukesofhazards thanks, I appreciate it!
Clara 3 Mar, 2019 @ 6:01pm
thank you for your many contributions to the community!
dannyman 3 Jan, 2019 @ 3:32pm
Fair enough, KingLeno, and I have since figured out how to tweak things to my liking. Thank you for the wonderful buildings!
KingLeno  [author] 3 Jan, 2019 @ 9:09am
@dannyman thanks, but no I won't. I've address this hundreds of times, but re: apartments being low or high residential, they will be whatever I feel like at the time. For everyone that complains about a building like this being low residential and growing in their single family neighborhoods, there will be the same amount of complaints about a building like this being high residential and growing among their skyscrapers and downtown high rises. So either way, there will be the same amount of complaints. Just go read through the comments on this and other apartments. the game doesn't have medium density, and nothing I can do about that.
dannyman 1 Jan, 2019 @ 4:02pm
KingLeno, I love your assets, but could you maybe reconsider some of the parameters? For example, this building looks like 4 homes on a 2x3 tile, which would for growable would be about Hi-Res level 1, per the handy chart here: https://skylines.paradoxwikis.com/Zoning#Zone_Types_and_Densities
JJamiah 24 Sep, 2018 @ 7:24pm
bruh thanks for helping me make the most ghetto ass town i could with these things you make
KingLeno  [author] 24 Jun, 2018 @ 6:13am
@king damuncha so again, it gets frustrating when someone makes not one comment, but comments again on either the way a mod affects the game (which I have zero control over) or the limitations of a game only having low density zone and high density zone.
KingLeno  [author] 24 Jun, 2018 @ 6:10am
@king damuncha all that to say, don't post about RICO related issues. I have no way to control how RICO affects how a building grows or not. Thanks for the feedback, but there is NO MEDIUM DENSITY. For every comment you made about this not fitting into high density and would work better in low density...I have just as many comments on other assets that are the same size that say "these keep popping up in my suburban single family houses, these shouldn't be low-density, they would work better as high density"
KingLeno  [author] 24 Jun, 2018 @ 6:06am
@king damuncha .... 1.) this is a growable asset. 2.) it includes a RICO setting 3.) your problem is with RICO 4.) when RICO first came out, growable buildings would function as regular growables which would grow and level up as normal, but could also be plopped 5.) apparently something changed in which growable buildings with RICO settings would no longer show up in building themes and no longer grow 6.) something again changed and the way RICO affects the way the building grows and can't be upgraded or de-zoned? I don't know because I haven't used zoning in over 2 years
King DaMuncha 23 Jun, 2018 @ 6:49pm
@KingLeno Dude I love all the other work you've done, but setting this to pop up in the middle of a dense high rise district is a miss for me. It would be better suited for low residential areas. not being growable means it stays as a level 1 building and doesnt become a high rise like all the other buildings around it.
KingLeno  [author] 23 Jun, 2018 @ 11:23am
@king damuncha thanks, helps me sleep better at night
King DaMuncha 23 Jun, 2018 @ 9:41am
This keeps popping up in my heavy residential zones. and this is not growable.
KingLeno  [author] 14 Jun, 2018 @ 5:23am
@sint holo well it's certainly not low density
Sint Holo 14 Jun, 2018 @ 2:06am
Ok this one keeps popping up in high density as a growable, what???
KingLeno  [author] 29 Apr, 2018 @ 7:35am
@radltruhe if you have no errors in the game, then you have no errors. And if you have a problem with the props, which apparently you and only you do, then don't subscribe to the prop. or the asset for that matter, but its frustrating when users comment on problems or issues that have absolutely nothing to do with the asset creator
KingLeno  [author] 29 Apr, 2018 @ 7:33am
@radltruhe my friend, why would i use a local version of KL Residential props .... when half my assets use them. Meaning I would have to subscribe and unsubscribe every time I wanted to make an asset. Makes no sense. But yeah, the output log says all types of stuff too, and changes and changes.
Radltruhe 29 Apr, 2018 @ 6:56am
I am not using any mod. Maybe you never checked output_log.txt on a clean PC without local versions of your assets my friend.
KingLeno  [author] 29 Apr, 2018 @ 5:33am
@radltruhe nah, just your game. when you're using mods all kinds of stuff happen that aren't related to a prop. half of my assets use KL Residential Props, I never had a problem with it and I play the game everyday. In fact, I'm the author of those assets. Problem is on your end my friend
Radltruhe 28 Apr, 2018 @ 10:57pm
This asset is great, but unless there is a dependency to KL Residential Props, I can't use, because it creates errors with possibility of breaking game. The asset author can't fix it. Unsubbing and resubbing didn't fix it.
