9/10 "Still a great rally game even in 2025."
(Xbox Elite Controller Driver)
Besides the a bit more arcadish car handling, everything we love(d) about Dirt Rally (1.0) is there, expanded by new countries, more cars, improved graphics / controls / co-pilot / ui and a bit customized career mode. Which is very welcomed as DR was missing variety contenwise after some time. But I really would've love to see the tracks from Dirt Rally 1.0 already in the base game, where-t-f is hillclimb and of course the official WRC licenced tracks in general, too! Also I highly recommend the Controller Settings guide at the bottom, as well as my ReShade presets.

Pros:
+ great gameplay
+ great countries/tracks
+ great controls/handling
+ great learning curve/satisfaction
+ great sound
+ very good amount of cars
+ very good graphics
+ good car physcis
+ a lot of content/modes/config
+ Rally & RallyX available in multiplayer
+ still no "rewinds"

Cons:
- no official WRC licence
- no classic career mode
- no hillclimb mode anymore
- no official wrc tracks

Wish Stage:
?! Port Underwood Rd (NZ)

Verdict:
Colin McRae Rally is back, again.

Thanks for putting what input device you use at the top of your review. This is where I believe the disconnect is coming from those with concerns to those satisfied with the launch and the current state of things.

Regarding your take on the DRM requirements however, it is increasingly rare to see it ever taken into account that Steam is already a form of DRM, so for a developer to include it is a bit unecessary normally, especially in a single player career mode. Steam is one of the most elegant and integrated DRM solutions available.

Having a roadmap and milestones aren't bad things, but they can't be hard coded and linked to payments disguised as innovative steps towards further growth of a beloved brand.

Regarding some of the "negative" opinions/reviews: :mannausea:

- got not one single race.net disconnection!?
- got no connection failed!?
- got no savegame loss!?
- it doesn't feel unfinsihed!?
- there are no annoying bugs!?
- sound doesn't disappear!?
- got no lightning problems on stages!?
- it's always online because of game piracy (and the world has become a cloud)
