This game is great. but theres some jarring issues really holding it back and i cant recommend till its fixed because this is a really obnoxious experience atm.
-annoying timers
-Stamina is sufficating, you can barely do a full attack string without burning through all your stamina
-you craft all your healing so if your learning a boss you need to constantly stop to craft more heals
-you dont heal at the whisper(bonfire/grace equivilent)
-minor mobs have way too much poise.

by far my biggest gripe is the stamina tho. luckily thats fixable for now with mods.

The games accessablity for a GZdoom game is insane, controller support is flawless and has all the bells and whistles. which is pretty rare for an indie boomer shooter.
Oh yea the game is sick, but you probably already know that

very nice, sick sprites , amazing art

surprisingly fun game i always hop on to do a run or 2 every now and then, very satisfying designs and visuals, could build variety.
id like to see this style of roguelite explored more. the only other game like this that comes to mind is Star of providence , also known as Monolith

More like a neutral or a "mostly positive" review, Really fun gameplay loop, and character customization, lots of personality. still certainly needs work but there is alot of fun to be had.

weapons need work, the hammer and spear are fine but the dodgeballs and cannon are cumbersome as 8 of my 9 hours on this game are probably on Cannon

the dodgeballs are a bit too finicky. they should always bounce back towards you or towards other enemies. i feel like i shouldnt ever have to go and pick up the ball. it should always just bounce back to the player eventually.

the cannon feels better then the dodgeball but the dodge being tied to ammo is a bit demanding , just having a weaker or slower dodge on cannon wouldve been fine imo, the special moves for cannon , other then mortar dont feel worth the health consumption at all , mortar does more damage then both and is safer in most cases.

the roguelite elements reaaaallly need work tho, most if not all them are kinda boring ngl. most of them are just about combo stacks. which are neat but dont translate visually at all. I honestly dont know what kind of roguelite upgrades the game could have , but just more different things would be nice

game adopts everything good about souls games while having a pretty stylized aesthetic

easily my favorite souls game even over Elden ring ,there wasnt a single part of this game that felt unfair or BS in anyway while still being challenging and rewarding.

no exploration felt like a waste of time.

and its extremely charming

easy 9/10 couldve used different weapons, but beyond that its a fairly flawless little adventure game.

lots of content. post game , amazing concept with a simple cute delivery, big fan

you can tell the devs really wanted to pump as much life into the game world as possible while keeping the simplicity and appeal

played more in the beta, the raw gameplay is great, but its muddied by alot of questionable decisions
in order of most importance;

-lack of TDM/capturepoint/basic fps modes : current game modes are okay at best, but we need to re-normalize just having a TDM mode. its a good practice friendly, no nonsense gamemode.

- respawns _still_ too long

- lack of side arms. pretty self explanatory , switching to your side arm is faster then reloading , and since the ttk is long, youll be reloading alot.

-healing delay is too long, but a self healing item could fix that

Truly amazing game , the vibes are just right , the lowpoly art style , the sound track , the simple but satisfying combat, easily one of favorites of the year.

filled with cryptic ♥♥♥♥ , but nothing that reaaaally got in the way of me enjoying the game. cept for 1 instance that i had to look up after being walled for atleast 4 hours. but overall good time.

crazy fun, I kinda wish there was more progression tho, it does get a bit old after awhile,
Something like Void bastards where you need to find specific things to make other things, and have to find food and gas for the ship, or like Death road to canada. but Lethal companies simplicity "of go in and get the ♥♥♥♥" is def one of its best qualities thats made it so approachable...
