Easy to understand, hard to master and just insanely fun to play.

I've never played more than 30 minutes of DotA 2 before and as someone that always wanted to know the characters more, I'm having a blast, especially on mobile since I just don't have time nor patience to play many games on my computer anymore.

Pure fun, highly recommend it!

I wish there were a Neutral option for reviews, but anyway - I ONLY recommend this game if you have a pretty decent song library in your computer. Why? Lemme explain:

YouTube Fiasco

This game used Soundcloud to stream songs for us to play back in the day until October~November 2016, but, after Soundcloud ceased any applications from using its services, the developer, Dylan, had a few weeks to think about what he was going to do with this game... and honestly, he's lucky his game is great as it is because Audiosurf 2 was almost unplayable for one week or so as a result of it.

After a while, he decided to switch AS2's music streaming from Soundcloud to YouTube, which was okay-ish in my book at the start since it was a brand new feature and we were able to play again, but, unfortunately... that didn't turned out as expected.

Now AS2 relies on YouTube to do the same job Soundcloud used to do... but, you see, there's one big problem - YouTube is disturbingly buggy.
Aside from the little video at the bottom of the screen that annoys some people, the known bugs so far are - freezing issues, crashes, lag spikes, and apparently compatibility issues with Macs.

However, from a competitive person point of view, my biggest gripe with this game now is - if you play any video directly from YouTube, say like any song from the Popular tab - the game may or may not change your block pattern to a completely different one every time you restart the song! And this includes ALL the multipliers as well. This can happen in ANY MODE, including Turbo ones where the tracks aren't randomized after every restart as well.

As a result, competing for records turns from a very rewarding experience to a freaking nightmare, simply because some patterns have fewer blocks and/or multipliers in other places of the song, which royally screws you, the player, trying to beat an old score or any chance of snatching a spot on the global leaderboards. Sometimes you will get a great pattern that might work in your way, but, I wouldn't count on that happening.

By the way, I've been noticing that the block patterns usually changes every week, so if you ever play some Popular song and, out of nowhere, some dude jumps from like, 325k points to 360k without any reachable multiplier in your current track, then you'll know they're playing a different version of the song.
I don't really know why it happens, but it may have something to do with how YouTube process its audio streams.

Here are some pictures to back up my statement.[imgur.com]
It is the exact same song: Jack Conte - Daft Punk Skrillex Remix and game mode is Mono.

I think I've played at least 6 different versions of this song and so far NO subsequent version comes close to beat my personal best in comparison to the "original" one I previously played, also the one where I got my best score.

Anyway, if you don't care about fighting for spots on the leaderboards, then you shouldn't worry too much about this whole YouTube audio streaming debacle. The bugs aren't as common as this review may lead you to think, but they happen every now and then and they might crap all over your game, so keep that in mind.

Some other points:

PROS

  • Great community! I made some good friends in and out of this game. Also, if you're competitive, be prepared to make some rivals as well. Dethrone and be dethroned!

  • TONS of different game modes. Workshop included.

  • Hundreds of different user made skins to choose from the workshop.

  • Probably the best time sinker/waster I've ever played. It's THAT good. The leaderboards made everything better in my eyes.

  • Very addicting. I lost count of how many times I said this exact sentence "3am... alright, just another song".

  • Forgiving and rewarding learning curve if you're willing to spend time understanding the mechanics of any given mode you might be interested in playing. In my opinion, this is more of a puzzle game rather than a rhythm game.

  • This might be redundant but you can play any audio file you want in this game, even podcasts, interviews or whatever you want to!

    CONS

  • The developer is MIA.

  • The free demo is unplayable for some people.

  • Some of the YouTube bugs are yet to be fixed.

  • YouTube's audio streaming system as a whole.

  • A few YouTube songs (e.g Heathens by twenty one pilots) are desynchronized and currently there's no real way to "fix" the desync problem.

  • Mono mode is by far the most popular mode, and the worst bit it is that Mono is completely RNG based, and... sometimes RNG is going to take a dump all over your score. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, endless middle blocks.

    IF YOU ALREADY HAVE SONGS ON YOUR COMPUTER...

    ...and since you're still reading this review, then yes, buy this game - both from a casual play and from a hardcore headhunter standpoint. This will keep you entertained for months.

    Now, if you're a competitive person, then you shouldn't have too many problems fighting for positions on leaderboards using your own music files.... I mean, only if you manage to find unbeatable scores because *perhaps* the 1st place used a different version of the same song, but that doesn't happen too often - at least in my experience.

    You're gonna find tons of players with different files of the same song but almost all files follow a similar pattern, whereas they balance each other in terms of multipliers and block placement along the track. However, you're gonna stumble upon some crazy scores out there - just reminding you of the possibility.

    If you're getting bored from the game, try the Workshop mods and skins and try a different mode! Endless possibilities.

    Oh yeah, before I forget. Hey yo, Dylan! Please, come back to Audiosurf 2, will ya?

UPDATED REVIEW - 04/10

Now that I invested (or wasted?) more time with this game I can give you guys a better review of WWE 2k16.

The game got patched but I still CANNOT recommend it. I am still playing it though, because all I do in this game is create characters, play Royal Rumbles with said creations and I have fun simulating my WWE Universe too.

Anyway, let's break it down in Pros and Cons so it's easier to get my points straight.

PROS
  • Amazing Graphics;

  • The roster is pretty packed with a bunch of DIFFERENT wrestlers. What I mean is - there's not many variations of the exact same character like in the previous versions. Just Steve Austin, but he's awesome so SWIG O' WATER FOR THE WORKING MAN.

  • MyCareer isn't a joke now. Oh wait, it still is because there's a great chance to CORRUPT YOUR DATA! I'm going to talk more about this in the CONS section;

  • You can create your own show, your own arena, championship and of course, many characters and WOMEN (suck it, 2k15) with their own move-sets and entrances;

  • The move-set list is excellent!

  • It takes a while to get the hang of the game, but after some practice you're gonna tear the house apart with a large variety of movements, like Springboard attacks and OMG moments;

  • Every DLC is available right from the bat, like it says on the thumbnail. I've seen some people asking so I thought I should add this piece of information in this review as well just in case;

  • You can remove the Chain Wrestling stuff by going into the Options menu and setting both Chain Wrestling bars to the lowest of the low;

  • The AI can be challenging if you raise the difficulty bar up enough;

  • I may be biased because Steve Austin is one of my favourite wrestlers, but the 2k Showcase is awesome. 2k Showcase can also corrupt your file too, by the way.

CONS
  • Although the Create-a-Wrestler Mode is very well done, there's not many options to choose from designs, tattoos, body shapes and a couple other things that really bothers me, because in the older games we had hundreds of designs to choose from and in this one we have twenty or so.

    Yeah, you can download custom logos and upload some of your own, but in my opinion it should have more vanilla designs for us to choose.

    Also, if you use too many designs in your creation, your character gets 'infected' with some weird green particules all over his body, and you can fix that by changing his skin colour just a little bit and saving right after you change it;

  • Importing faces can be kinda buggy too, and also weird as heck;

  • Editing faces is weird, but that is just me. I prefer the old way with all the sliders. I have a problem making asian characters as well, but that is just me again I think, lol;

  • The submission system can be very, very random with a controller. I had no problems playing with a keyboard, but with a controller I feel it's just luck based. Just wear down your opponent and keep doing a submission move until you get it right;

  • Lilian Garcia can sometimes glitch up her lines and say something like - AND THE CHALLENGER, THE MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH AND THE WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, FROM DAVENPORT, IOWA. It kinda ruins the immersion, but it is funny when it happens;

  • Be careful when downloading stuff from the Community Creations, because sometimes the game can simply NOT SAVE and corrupt your data;

And the main reasons I cannot recommend the game right now is:

  • FPS problems. I have a kinda outdated graphic card (Radeon R7 200 Series) but this graphic card runs any other recent game well in medium settings. However, I tried to play a 30-man Royal Rumble match with medium settings, and after a while the game started to lag a lot. I had to close the match because there was no way I could keep playing in slow motion. Some people do not have this problem with lesser graphic cards, but I and many others do, especially AMD users;

  • The game still crashes a bit during entrances like Bray Wyatt's or Undertaker's and during at any point in MyCareer mode. This latest patch fixed a couple random crashes during entrances, but it still happens from time to time.
    Also, songs do not suddenly stop playing after playing the game for a while anymore;

  • Sometimes the game decides to corrupt your data. So please, I cannot stress this enough BACKUP YOUR SAVE GAME AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

    BEFORE ANYTHING BAD HAPPENS, go to Steam\userdata\[YourID] and copy the whole 385730 folder, and I mean the WHOLE FOLDER, not just the remote stuff. After you do that, paste that save in a safe place, like your porn folder.

    Now if you get your files corrupted by just playing MyCareer like I did, at least you have your progress saved.

    If that ever happens, don't panic - Shut Steam down and go to the Steam folder. Delete the ENTIRE CORRUPTED 385730 SAVE FILE inside the Steam\userdata\[YourID]\ folder and paste the one you had saved before. Now, double-click the save you just pasted and DELETE the remotecache.vdf, so Steam Cloud doesn't eff up your save. Start Steam and start your game. Steam is going to ask you what file you want to use - choose the LOCAL FILE option.

    You SHOULD be good to go with this method, but sometimes Steam just doesn't upload your entire save to the Cloud. If that happens, turn off Steam Cloud.

    It sucks, we shouldn't care about this, but this is such a messy port that if you want to buy this crap and have fun with it, it's a sacrifice you have to make;

  • Also, JBL sucks. The commentary is golden because JBL is just 'there', and the majority of the dialogue is between Cole and Jerry. Sometimes JBL says something like OH THERE'S THE FINISHER and that's pretty much it.

Besides the obvious Cons, I can safely say that this game is great IF YOU DON'T MIND BEING EXTRA CAREFUL WITH YOUR PROGRESS. However, my love for wrestling, my patience and my graphic card doesn't overcome FPS issues. I'll keep myself from playing MyCareer, 2k Showcase and a 6-man Hell in a Cell - or any sort of a 6-man kind of match, even though is my favorite match type to play. Royal Rumble is fine now for me, but it still lags a bit.

If you have a low-end PC or an AMD graphic card - you should avoid this game for now, or at least until/if 2k releases another patch or something regarding us AMD users.

TL;DR - It is a fun wrestling game, lots of stuff to do but 75% of the game can corrupt your save at any given point, and it lags quite a bit for AMD users.

The objective of GEARCRACK is to survive, pummel robots and clear the waves of enemies coming to murder your ass, but the thing is, you're thrown inside a dark metal cave and have to figure out what the hell you need to do, and no, there's no tutorial and nothing else to aid you in this game.

There's 4 classes in this game and they're not that different - they're there just to differ how many hits you can take, how many times you can hack the robots and how many times you can snipe them. There's not even an upgrade system to help you out, you just choose what 'class' you want and that's it.

  • The space bar 'hacks' the robots so they don't shoot you, but they can still move around.

  • Mouse right-click slows you down a bit and allows you to aim more precisely and then, press left-click to shoot. A big red line comes across if you do properly.

  • Mouse left-click alone is a simple melee attack.

    In my opinion GEARCRACK isn't worth it your time, but it has trading cards so yay!
    Don't forget to give a shot to the soundtrack made by Walter Machado if you're a fan of industrial metal like I am.

    Check out UBERMOSH for a better game than this one.

There are only two things I really liked about this game

+ The Create A Wrestler system is actually pretty cool, some diversity in the 'ring gear' and the moves were kinda nice. I say this because for me, who loved to spend hours in the Create Mode in every WWE game, I really enjoyed creating my own aberration.

+ The trading cards, who doesn't love money, right?

I might save some good words for the soundtrack as well, but everything else in this game is crap, the fighting system is AWFUL, just spam a button and you win, or lose, because the AI can SPAM THE SAME THING.

The combos don't work AT ALL and I actually had some fun by just stunning every opponent and yelling STONE COLD STONE COLD STONE COLD.

What a shame, I really, reaaally liked the create a wrestler mode, well, get your trading cards and stay the hell away from this garbage.

You're going to murder lots of bald-headed people, LOTS OF THEM!

Hotline Miami is a gory fast paced top-down shooter based on trial and error. It is a very, very fun game to pass the time and you NEED to be patient if you want to proceed, because if you take one shot - you're dead.

There's a decent amount of masks that you can use, and these masks gives you little perks that could help or screw you. My favorite is Tony, a mask that makes your punches one-hit everybody, except for the big fat guys.

The story of this game is great too. I cannot talk much about it because it would ruin your experience, but your character's life is going to be full of ups and downs. More downs than ups, for that matter.

The soundtrack is the icing on the cake, and it is one of the best I've heard!
M|O|O|N - Crystals is by far one of the best pieces of music I've ever listened to.

The game can be very short if you take your time, learn the mechanics and just go hard on the paint. There's some unlockables, like masks and a secret ending! Definitely worth your time. I got everything done with almost 7 hours of gameplay. I loved every minute of it.

Grab this game on sale (or not - it's totally worth the full price, but it comes on sale a lot, actually) and I guarantee you're going to have a literal blast with this game.

Also, the bearded dude who gives you things is a hard working man.

Do you like shooting enemies with crazy weapons? Do you love overwhelming powers? Can you endure the grinding of your life for rewards? Then this game is perfect for you.

Warframe is without a doubt an awesome game. Constant updates; a space themed FPS with magical powers to melt the faces of your enemies; very fast paced action; it's dynamic and you can 'parkour' the entire level if you want to. You can play the game in any way you want to.

You're never left without a thing to do. However, because of this, we can talk about the only downside of the game - which for some others, like myself, isn't that bad of a negative point. I'm talking about the GRINDING to get stuff like specific mods to upgrade your weapons, weapon parts and warframe parts.

Basically, you're left to the mercy of that old friend of ours, the RNG. Some maps takes only a few tries until you get everything you need to build a new frame, or a sick weapon. On the other hand, some maps take a hundred times to even get a single part. RNG can be forgiving, but for the most part, you're going to see yourself playing the same map over and over again.

To sum it up - This game isn't difficult at all. The early phase is just fine to play without a sweat, even without spending money! It just takes a lot more to achieve the gear you're aiming to build.
Also, it is much more fun with friends, but you might reconsider if you're not in the mood to grind when you reach that near mid-game. All can be worth the effort when you two-shot that freaking boss who killed you a bunch of times when you get more levels and better gear.

All in all, I recommend you at least trying the game out - it is free and it's how F2P should be done. The devs are absolutely amazing.

I'm a long time TrackMania fan and I'm glad to see it on Steam, especially the United version.

COMMUNITY

The community is small nowadays but very welcoming. One of the main selling points in my honest opinion is being in a game that people often congratulate each other after races whenever they get high records or just for the sake of a good round. I gotta say, this is a breath of fresh air in online communities and a very nice atmosphere to be a part of in a competitive game like this one.

GAME MODES

There's 7 other modes available in the United version including Stadium, the "generic" one.
It's kinda hard to find dedicated serves of anything other than Stadium and maybe Coast. After you reach 80k+ LP you might be able to join mixed servers with lots of Island, Rally and the other modes tracks. Anyway, I'll briefly describe them for ya:

  • Stadium is the go-to mode for this game. High octane racing and sometimes even technical. Arcade Trackmania, ladies and gentlemen.

  • Coast is my favorite mode. It's slowpaced in comparison to Stadium and you can feel the weight of your car really well. You drive on mainly offroad tracks and they're all amazing. Lots of memories playing Coast. Shout out to Coast players out there. You guys are rad.

  • Island is pretty insane. Speed demons! Island is quite challenging and frustrating as well. Handling those speedsters is no easy task.

  • Desert is like being in Dukes of Hazzard. Watch out for corners, otherwise you're gonna find yourself upside down at the end of every turn.

  • Rally is iffy to say the least. One of the modes nobody actually cares about it, or even knows it exist. You "control" a tiny car that doesn't understand the concept of balance. It'll take you patience to handle those devilspawns.

  • Snow can be pretty damn fun and challenging as well. It's mostly a mixture of Rally and Desert. Once you figure out how to get around corners with these bobcats you're good to go!

  • Bay rocks! Acceleration is the name of the game. I love how these cars handle, and it's so good once you're nailing every corner going faster than the speed of sound.

    NEGATIVE POINT. YES, ONLY ONE POINT

    I'll be honest with you - the only one negative point of TrackMania nowadays is its popularity.
    United used to be full of players, but right now things aren't going so well.

    What happened? Well, you see, there's a free version of this game called Nations. In Nations you can only play Stadium. Fair, right? Yes, but Nadeo didn't think so. A few years ago Nadeo had a great idea.

    "What if we implemented a FreeZone system, which basically restrict every free player of playing 1 or 2 tracks in a row and pushes them into a queue, waiting a round to play again?"

    "Genius!"

    (TrackMania Nations only, if you own United you're good to go.)

    This FreeZone bollocks almost killed this game, but the players found a way around that and trust me - this game is a LOT of fun, with tor without the United license. Give it a shot on sale.

    Trackmania Turbo is okay too, but, United is where Trackmania really shines.
