I recommend it, but Dragon Age: Inquisition is an unbearable slog without some very needed quality of life mods and, even then, I'd suggest you to think about spending time playing this mediocre game.

I kept playing it because the mods I have installed helped me bypass what I didn't like so I could jump straight to what I wanted the most - the companions bantering and bickering every five minutes.

I got these mods:
  • instant war table shenanigans;
  • quicker looting;
  • improved radius for looting;
  • huge inventory capacity;
  • bugs be gone;
  • more experience gained (10x);
  • speed launch (skips the intro and goes directly to the main menu);
  • party banter;
  • and the one I wish I got sooner, faster attack speed tier 3.

Now lemme talk a little about the best part of this game: The characters.

It took me a bit to get the companions I wanted, Sera and Dorian. I kept Cassandra because she is hilarious in her own right. Everyone else kinda... falls short in being interesting and/or entertaining, except for Iron Bull. Varric is alright if you keep him around Cassandra.

Leiliana and Josephine are very interesting characters and they kept me engaged into their storylines. I even ended up romancing Josephine and it was very, very cute - especially with my character being a Qunari. Cullen however is plain as a door and unfortunately I just couldn't force myself to keep talking to him.

Morrigan also shows up eventually and she is a delight as usual. She was a very needed addition to the game and I wish she showed up sooner and in a bigger role from the get-go. That woman oozes charisma and I'll forever simp for her.

Most of the cast can be very boring, depending on what you find entertaining, including the sociopath Solas. The inquisitor is kind of a dark hole of charisma depending of the choices you make and, please, do yourself a favour and use the british female voice for the inquisitor for a much better experience.
I dig chav accents so Sera made me laugh out loud more than once. She is a huge brat so keep that in mind, but her interactions with Cassandra made these almost 60 hours of gameplay more than worth it.

Now... the rest.

Everything else is more of a single-player MMORPG and unfortunately the enemies can be very tanky for absolutely no reason. I really wish I had the attack speed mod from the beginning, but at least here I am telling you to not make the same mistake as me. I played as a two-handed warrior just bashing everyone's brains out and I still felt underpowered with my boosted experience and somewhat powerful weapons. I genuinely dislike how 'hammer'spongy these enemies can be, especially in the DLCs. Come on, now.

Walking around is also slow, doing the side-quests... I mean, I just wish they were more engaging than just 'go there and fight that demon' or 'close that rift... again'. It offers little to no reward but thankfully with mods you can just bypass all of this very easily.
Some of the treasure hunting can be fun like the shards and the asterium thingies you find during your strolls along the planes of existence in this game but I know it is not for everyone. Eventually I got bored and just got a mod to unlock the doors using the shards with a lot fewer items than the game originally asks you to.

The story is the usual "I was chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool and shootin' some darkspawn outside of where I wasn't supposed to be when a big bad evil guy who was up to no good started making trouble in my neighbourhood." I genuinely had zero interest in knowing more about it until the Winter Palace, which is a fun drama mystery waiting to happen that could've been easily the main aspect of this entire game and made it so much better but alas, it is just a mission and it's... okay.

Most of your choices actually matter but what good does it do to the overall experience when the game is boring? Read up on the characters and if you enjoy some of them then I'd say to go ahead and get this, but, just know the game just ain't that good or mechanically fluid at all.

I don't know who thought the 'lets make the character sit down and loot' animation was any good. Thank the modders for the work they do otherwise I'd have never played this for more than 30 minutes.

I really wanted to like this game but the game just doesn't like me. At all.

Monster Sanctuary tries to do too much and excels at one specific thing... being beyond boring.

The battle system is slow, uneventful and simply annoying to deal with. This game would highly benefit from an autoattacker or just being faster, way faster than it is because I feel I am wasting my time attacking spongy enemies.

The exploration is alright, the music is repetitive, the hidden stuff is ok but the core concept of the game feels like a total chore and it didn't take long for me to realize that.

Incredibly fun thus far. At first I was a bit skeptical about the new information dump but it doesn't overwhelm nor complicate things, which is a huge plus.

Combat is satisfying, the characters are ok (but very pretty) and the deck system just works.

I genuinely can't wait for the achievements for the extra incentive to keep playing more and more.

EDIT: Well the game is still pretty fun but the progress is way too slow in campaign mode. Things should be quicker, the party should level up faster so I can use different kinds of cards.

For now I'm done, I think I've seen what the game has to offer and it's good, but it'd be a thousand times better if the progress was at least 4x faster.

I genuinely had high hopes for this game and I love arcade racers but whenever you hit the rails somewhat hard, they force your car into 'ghost' mode, slowing you down and completely ruining the whole experience.

Let me crash the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ car if I want to, let me drive recklessly but don't force this crap onto me. Awful design; I can't recommend.

I went in expecting it to be a bore, to refund it before the 2 hour mark and wait for Forza 4 to get heavily discounted but... but it felt so fun.
The cars feel extremely good to drive plus all the other stuff you can do in the game-- rallying, flying through hoops, hovercrafting, biking and even some action shots, drifting, demolition derby, driving boats and monster truck madness; each with their own spin on the event, sometimes even turning into a completely different game. I suck at the Air Racing ones, but I still managed to do a few of them for some achievos.

The Crew 2 really does it all and does it pretty nicely. You can expect a TON of races and extras like speedtraps, escapes and photo-ops.

Most definitely do the Summit events for more goodies-- it's nothing special, just a little leaderboard competition add-on, a droplet in the ocean of content this game is.

Get your playlist going, a podcast, even your favourite show on a second monitor and just drive away, it is that therapeutic.

A bastion of pure badassery

AMID EVIL can be a masterpiece if you want it to be.

The weaponry is beyond wonderful with a plethora of different murderous gadgets including but not limited to:
  • An axe which pulls enemies to you based on and completely fueled by anger* (*creative liberties applied);

  • A wand claw thing which shoots planets, including Earth sooo if it doesn't murder the enemies by exploding them it certainly murders them via Coronny;

  • An electrical trident which shoots... well, lightning. What did you expect?

BUT, there's a catch- there's the SOUL MODE. It empowers every weapon, including the axe, giving them even MORE POWER.

  • The axe becomes a motorboat engine (do it underwater for a surprise);

  • The planet-shooting wand claw thing shoots Suns now, no biggie;

  • The trident becomes what your mom thought it was gonna happen to you when you wanted to put your lil fingie on the electrical outlet- yeah, that bad.

The episodes are so well designed and more importantly FUN to walk around and explore every nook and cranny of every map if you enjoy looking for secrets and enemy to murder almost every level has secrets (I'd say 99,9%) and it really is a love letter to the forgotten legends from yesteryear, days gone by like Heretic, Hexen and Strife.

Episodes like Astral Equinox and Domain of the Sentinels which are the first ones you go through are very interesting; a reminder that interesting isn't inherently a positive word. They're not bad but not necessarily good either, I'd prefer a faster episode implemented (maybe like what they're cooking now) and let us choose the fully-fledged ones later just because it kinda sucks in a game like AMID EVIL to be linear from the beginning when you see so many cool architectures in trailers and screenshots like The Forges (my absolute favourite) and Solar Solstice.

Every episode has its own set of enemies which is absolutely AMAZING! There are so many WEIRD ASS MOTHER... LMAO you get the idea, mannnnn. I was playing Solar Solstice and out of nowhere some weird ass plant lil dudes were running at me and I just shot my Star of TORMENT (my fav weapon like DAMN DUDE) they were FLYING, STUCK ON WALLS this was insane, nothing like I have ever played before, not even DOOM made me feel so happy killing strange monsters like AMID EVIL and both you spell in all caps... maybe that's the magic behind it...
Also in Solar Solstice there's a flying stone face who spits fire who scared the sh out of me... yknow? My free advice for you, once you grab the Star of TORRRRMENT, JUST USE THE STAR OF TORMENT AND USE THE SOUL MODE. THAT'S IT-- BEST WEAPON.

For crowds it's the Aeternum, by the name you simply know it is the rarest and technically the best weapon... again, for crowds. Use the soul mode, it's mind-blowing, literally.

Anyway, moving on to the soundtrack! It does its job just how you expect it to, and I will generalize it because it does fit with the atmosphere of every single level of every episode; the tension, the enemies that sometimes just decide to jumpscare the holy f out of you. The immersion is there, I highly recommend playing this game fully focused because it deserves all of your attention.

Now, I started this review saying it can be a masterpiece if you wanted it to be, and lemme tell you the cons, but before just a lil thing - it feels you have to tweak a lot of stuff before you can actually play the game without issues but gameplaywise I don't have many issues, just:
  • SAVE OFTEN. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. SAVE OFTEN! The game is really not friendly with its autosave because it is a boomer shooter so do yourself a favour and save often otherwise you will be ragequitting more than you'd like to admit;

  • The font of the game can be hit or miss for some; personally I loved it, it fits the alien vibe the game has going on and I just adore it but it does feel weird and the alternative on the settings menu is generic as hell;

  • The flashing lights are the worst, playing without them shoulda been the norm from the get go; I can't do with flashing lights due to my concussion history and every time you get something in your eye the game flashes pure RED, it's bad; gotta go on the menu to solve that too;

  • The platforming is kinda stupid, especially during The Forges... oh that part was polemic;

  • The pacing of the very last level feels just soooo out of place which I believe it IS the idea but it doesn't feel very fun to explore especially having to face a reused boss I just faced (prolly the worst one too); shoulda used a revamped boss from the beginning of the game instead like Moon Guardy boi... but the aesthetic was brilliant, kudos to that;

  • Some enemies are a tad disgusting to go against (the cultist dumbf* with the mace... whoever created that guy you can go f*ck yourself bud wish you the best tho. lmao);

  • Also some bugs, some enemies just disappear if you're going for the killing all enemies achievement or if you just wanna murder em all... sometimes you will be at 123/124 because one of them will simply decide to not show up and that's that, gotta restart unfortunately;

  • Azure Orb deserves more love.

Basically, play AMID EVIL if you love fast paced FPS, boomer shooters with a new twist because it goes way beyond that because it IS one of the most WONDERFUL experiences I have ever had in a while. It will surprise you and the settings menu can and will fix 95% of the issues you may have with the game, I guarantee it.

I am so grateful for New Blood for having the audacity to go this far with this project because it speaks to my wildest dreams; The Forges... I keep talking about it, Forges is purely industrial, mechanic and cybernetic without going cyberpunk-ish and that's why-- I just need to play it listening to Fear Factory or listening to Fulgore's theme from Killer Instinct and all is well and beautiful within.

Also there's a Horde mode too and some other new goodies... just do it, just play this game, the devs love this game so much and there's so much love poured in this that you just can feel it. I 100% it and I couldn't be more proud of myself-- I very rarely do that (laziness) and I am very glad that I have.

By the way, strafe-- strafe a lot, it will save your life more times than you can actually count, trust me. You won't regret it.

I was trying it out since I got it from the Humble Choice because it looked neat and all then... not even five minutes in I picked up a map piece, clicked B to close it but something went wrong.

Every other button worked, including B! Well... except of course, the B input I needed to close the damn map. Screw that. lmao

This game is such a wonderful experience and I want everybody to check it out.

This isn't a sequel to the first ME, instead it tells a different story. You are Faith, a runner that just got out of prison and is finally back into the mix. The story can be hit or miss, the beginning is just Faith de-rusting and also having to deal with a very competitive and cocky new runner called Icarus, who is always getting in her nerves.
The plot develops a bit more, it introduces more characters but never goes deep on their importance or why they should be intrinsic to the story. I personally enjoyed for what it was but the characters were definitely not developed as much as they needed to be a better game. I'm a sucker for storytelling and even though Catalyst didn't do a good job doing so, I still enjoyed it. The Birdman shows up at the beginning, you find some pigeons for the dude and he's never seen again. lmao
Also, Plastic should've been there from the beginning of the story-- if not for Plastic, Faith would've failed miserably.

The gameplay is fantastic, it is fluid but... sometimes can be frustrating (lets say platforming ain't its forte). After a while you just get the hang of the running and you're naturally climbing stuff, jumping over obstacles and my favourite, performing death from above onto enemies which never-- and I mean NEVER gets old. Also, whenever you are able to do the grid nodes just do em since you will be able to fast travel to nearby safe zones and save you a TON of time, unless you're hunting for collectibles.

Talking about enemies... well, they're just there for the most part-- the last one can be a bit of a challenge if you don't upgrade your combat skill tree before the endgame (I highly recommend upgrading the disrupt one too) but Faith is a juggernaut; her kicks completely dismantle the lesser grunts and it's just so satisfying seeing them stumble over themselves and falling off cliffs-- it's magical.
The Focus Shield mechanic is great, you gain a shield by simply running and somehow the bullets do not damage you but fail a jump and your shield is gone. Use and abuse the wall run, turn around and jump heavy kick because it will save you multiple times.

There are no boss battles per se, but if anything the time trials are the real boss battles. Lemme tell ya, some of them require extreme precision which is quite overwhelming to say the least. I can't count how many times I've finished a delivery with 00:00 on the clock. I don't know if that was their intention from the beginning but I'd have loved some leeway instead of the time trials basically being a nick of time extravaganza. If you wanna do these as soon as possible then rush the pipe climbing upgrade, it'll make your life easier-- trust me.
There are usermade trials too which are always a treat to compete for the leaderboards and you can also make some yourself too.

There are a TON of collectibles to get if you so desire and it's always fun to just run around, the game does its gimmick super well and even when you crash and burn, you can always try again and nail that wall run, 180, jump, spring, climb and what else comes next.

The soundtrack is phenomenal but I won't say anything, I'll just let the game show it to you-- you won't regret it.

If you can get past the glaring issues of shallow side-character development, somewhat buggy platforming especially during the final missions (oh boi those can be quite frustrating) and rushed story with some questionable anticlimactic moments Noah's fate made me really angry, he didn't even get to mutter a word to Faith... couldn't they just let the guy say "I'm glad you showed up" and then die? Come on, dude. then definitely get this game.

I personally found it better than the original because I liked this Faith more than the old one. This game does everything the old one did better except for some of the running which could've been better flowwise.

Beautiful game, the architecture is incredible and I LOVE the minimalistic approach. I am really hoping for a Mirror's Edge 3 that is an actual sequel for this one.

You buy a car, you race a bit; then you buy a new car, you race a bit again; there you go buying a new car and rinse, repeat. That's the idea of most racing games, right? Yeah, but usually most good racing games mix things up a little with different stuff to do and some sort of varation involved... but GRID is just that shallow-- every time, all the time.

The selection of cars is alright but basically they're just a different "skin" for the same few circuits available. Some skins are faster and some are slower-- that's it, that's the game. The cars in different classes feel EXACTLY the same; even the legendary Test Drive 6 had a bit of differentiation but not GRID, not in the slightest.

The customization is... well, you guessed it-- meh. They give you the illusion of actually giving your car somewhat of a modification but that ain't it-- again, Test Drive 6 did it better.

Test Drive 6 did the soundtrack better too. Fear Factory still rules, my favourite band of all time plus they have Lunatic Calm too so even better (no joke TD6 soundtrack is insanely good)

Also GRID kinda implemented a team management feature where you can maybe but not really have a crew and a rival and such. Did you know you can replace your teammate? I'm not gonna even mention who did it better. Yes, Kanyon did it better because nobody betta.

In all seriousness, there are better options out there, even for an arcadey racing game like this-- the Need for Speed games and even The Crew 2. I can't believe I'm recommending The Crew 2. lmao

If anything, the smart decision is to wait for Forza Horizon 4 to come to Steam in two weeks or so (prob already out by the time you're reading this); that's a million times better than what this is supposed to be.

Or just play Test Drive 6. Here in my car I feel safest of all; I can lock all of my doors, it's the only way to live in... cars.

I really didn't like it.

I get the survivor thing but the stamina system sucks-- so you're saying I can jump fences, climb a crane and run around like a maniac but after swinging thrice my character needs to back off because he's tired? Come on. I don't want to keep playing until I can unlock a skill perk that allows me to swing once more or whatever.

Moving around is already clunky and the parkour... oh the parkour is subpar, to not say mediocre especially after playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst recently. The "survivor vision" is a chore, do I really need to click Q every 5 to 10 seconds to find more loot? Couldn't it be implemented from the get go with no button attached to it? I'm a hoarder in games and this doesn't feel fun at ALL.

The final nail is that the story hits all the dumb clichés right from the start; I might be in a big mood today but I have the feeling this game is just not for me.
