Hello, I saw your post about how to use 360 or steam controller with silent hunter 3. I found a solution for myself and wanted to share. Even though SH3 doesn't support the steam overlay, I was able to start modifying controls for my steam controller through the "controller configuration" button all the way on the right of the menu bar on the game screen while in library mode. This may seem obvious, but I had never noticed this button and always just relied on the overlay. I am starting a configuration based on the guide KEYBOARD SHORTCUT By Nuee. It's a complex game so it may take me a while and you or someone else may be quicker so I thought I'd give you a heads up asap, especially as SH3 I think is at its lowest price ever between now and the first. I did test my changes in game so far and they work. When I'm done I'll try to publish the config to the community and make a post in discussion as well. I'll try to remember to give you a heads up.
