The Greatest Computer Game Ever Made

The time you spend not playing DOOM (1993), I'm here to remind you you don't get that back...

Now, despite my hour count on Steam, I've thousands of hours on this game since 1995 across many platforms, so I'm not some rando kid jumping on the bandwagon. And besides, I don't care if you don't believe me because you can see from my profile I've always been nuts about DOOM, everyone who knows me knows it, as well as this is a perfect game, so why the hell even write this review? Well, because this 'port' has evolved over the years and now I can see it's worth recommending for people new to the franchise.

This 'port' prior to the major ~30th anniversary update was lacking, so had always avoided it and just played my map packs through source ports with a front-end like DoomLauncher. But I gotta say that since they added Andrew Hulshult's music, access to some mods, the id Vault as well as a ton of other quality of life features, this is a great way to play DOOM, DOOM II (1994), DOOM II: Master Levels (1995), as well as Final DOOM (1996). The fact that id Software have made it easy to play John Romero's--co-creator of DOOM--latest mods Sigil and Sigil II is icing on the cake.

If you're somehow still reading this, I'm not going to waste any more words. Get it, play it with mouse and keyboard, and if you're still not convinced, well, go play Halo or Half-Life as you're weak...and totally dead to me.
