If you don't have CS:S or access to the textures in some way, this game will probably be a Missing Textures simulator to you. Just a quick disclaimer before I get into the actual review.
This game is a brilliant first-person physics-based mod 'em up, by our friend Garry. But, what is a mod 'em up? Well, the possibilities are endless. Our good friend Gmod here created this genre to start getting more people into the Steam Workshop and into Modding in general. This Mod 'em up genre is essentially an ultimate sandbox, allowing anything to happen as long as the community actually cares about this concept and contributes to it. And fortunatley for us, the community has contributed massivley. Providing mods for individual weapons and props, to completely different gamemodes which alone has contributed to a large amount of Gmod players. Without this, this wouldn't be much of a game.
Now, I mentioned before that if you don't have CS:S you will suffer pink and black checker syndrome. That's because this game steals the textures and sounds from other Valve games. This makes this game a tiny download with a lot of content, which I like but does limit the person who is not a Valve fanboy.
To sum up, this isn't a good game. But, the community has made it amazing. Pick this game up and enjoy what is essentially a great community-made project.
7.5/10
