Weapon Stats discussion and why we did this.
A comment on the stats of the weapons:

We wanted to do this for our server because despite originally having about 24 guns available to players, only four would ever be used: the antimat rifle, the caravan shotgun, the CAR, and the combat shotgun. Both shotguns were one-shot kills at pretty much any practical range. The antimat rifle was always a 1-shot. The CAR would 2-shot people, but it could be fired so fast that people would seem to die in one frame on their end. They made all the other guns pointless, and everyone would basically die in one shot with no time to react or have a fair fight, which really doesn't work for an RP server.

We went through each of the weapon's stats individually and tried to balance things in the same class around each other. We decided to include the scoped service rifle in this initial group to act as a DMR, and I wanted it to be a 3-shot kill where most of the bolt action rifles are 2-shot kills (with 100 health as the reference). However, if I left the fire rate as it was it would still kill a LOT faster than the sniper rifles, and I didn't want to reduce its accuracy because I felt it should still be possible to consistently pop headshots on zombies from long range. So, I took down the fire rate instead to make it more comparable to its peers as far as minimum time-to-kill goes.

We did stat juggling like this for a lot of the guns, and as you'll see in the changelog all the stats have a <, --, or > next to them. “<” means it was reduced from it's original, “--“ means I left it alone, and “>” means it was increased. They're not totally faithful to the stats of the fallout weapons, in many cases (the tribeam and multiplas rifles being the most extreme examples, I modified them the way I did because I thought they looked friggin terrifying when firing like energy shotguns), but I think they're a bit more balanced than they were for PVP and should cut down on people seeming to die in one frame at the start of a gunfight. But they’re not done, and I’m not an expert on game balance.

So we are open to suggestions on stat changes, as this is just like, a first draft of the weapons, and I'll get around to looking at more of the weapons' stats eventually. We're also keeping an eye on how players are using these guns on our RP server and if any show up as still being clearly overpowered, they'll probably get stat changes here as well.

So go ahead and post suggestions here and we will consider them carefully, but I can’t guarantee how quickly updates will happen.

I was hoping on using a majority of these for my fallout rp, but unfortunately I feel that plenty of these weapons just do a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of damage, fire too quickly or reload too quickly. Normally this wouldn't be a huge problem, you could just tweak player health, but for mine it's a PvE, and the high damage just overpowers npcs. Perhaps you know of a mod that raises npc health?

Either way most of the guns work fairly well, good job to you and your team!

I'm not the original creator of this, this is basically a shortened pack of halokiller38's addon
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=133702725
where Nightly and I adjusted the damage values and other features (recoil, accuracy, etc.) of the weapons, as well as added some very minor code fixes (mostly adding checks to supress some errors that were commonly spamming our server's console, changing the world models, and a couple of edits/fixes to the grenades and mines). The damage values on the original SWEPs are much higher, and in general the guns are much deadlier in that pack. However there are also like, 100 more guns in that pack than there are in this one, since we only modified the weapons that we were actually going to use in our server.

Off the top of my head for NPC addons, this comes to mind. I don't know if it's what you're looking for or not, but I've seen this floating around. http://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=104486597.

Additionally, this little tutorial seems to allow you to adjust health for at least the default gmod NPCs. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?953140-How-to-change-an-NPC-s-health

Let me know if any of that helps, and thanks!

Wow hey thanks for the quick reply! I'll check that stuff out, thank you very kindly, and keep up the awesome work! But yeah, spent like all morning looking for a way to modify npc health. Maybe the burnout from searching halted my progress. Many thanks friend.
