NextBot Zombies 2.0
Nav_generate freezes my gmod
So i've downloaded Nextbot Npcs on my gmod. I followed the instructions to be able to make it work, although once I typed : nav_generate on the console , i wait for a couple of minutes then my game just freezes and it eventually crashed. Is this normal?

Uh no. You just have to be patient. Depending on the map it can take from a few seconds to several minutes and even more if it's something like the size of gm_bigcity.

sean, I've had this happen to me every time I try to do nav_mesh and like Phok says, it crashes the game.

You can't do anything while it's generating, just sit back and watch some youtube or do something.

I'm not doing anything. I literally sit and watch it. It crashes my game every time.

:/ Sorry nothing I can do about it. It's either the map or the nav generation being bad.

How can it be the map when it's gm_construct? :L There's obviously something wrong on my end if it's fine for you and others. Just have no idea what...

Why are you generating a navigation mesh for gm_construct? It already has one on its own.

The nav mesh on it was jacked up, the zombies would end up freezing in any indoor area so when I tried to do a little NPC survival thing with Combine holed up inside one of the buildings it was ruined when the zombies took a step inside and literally froze, repeating the groan sound over and over again.

Did you get any errors? If so can you post your console?

If there weren't any errors then go into your garrysmod directory/maps and find gm_construct.nav. Delete that .nav file and go back to your steam libary and validate garry's mod files.

That should pretty much redownload the gm_construct .nav file.

Alright, so I did as you said and tested the zombies on gm_construct, and every single zombie besides the Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, Behemoth, and Berzerker will go to this one spot in the map, literally the same spot for all of them, even if I have them face me. They just sit there and spam the moan/groan sound.

Try to clean up everything in the map through the utilities menu
Nav_generate crashes every map on a server, you have to do it in single player sandbox mode. Even then it may crash the game. that doesn't mean it didn't generate a useable nav file though.
