Well, i tried these mods but they dont seem to work. I did the thing snakes said but is doesnt work either.

Thanks for that info, SnakesBlood! That's actually much, MUCH less difficult for people than it is for me to update the mod as the creator, every time a tiny little game patch "breaks" it.

They seriously didn't make it easy to mod for this game, and the update process is horrible.

As many have stated, manually update your mods. Easy, works!
Go to any mod's folder(steamlibrary, steamapps, workshop, content, 572410-- open the config file and change ONLY ModGenVersion to 300102836 .
Fixed all of your mods(mine at least ;) ) Time to dust of your old mods!

The way Steel Division handles mods, most mods are incompatible with most other mods. It's just a bad system and there's nothing much that can be done about it. That's why people have made versions of so many other mods combined with No Glow. Sorry.

I'm amazed that all of those other mods work together!

it said ERROR notice that "The following mods are incompatible with previously activated mods""NoGlow". In this time, I've been using a couple mods. The mod is Enhanced Range Markers, Unlimited supply + infantry Reinforcing, Sound and Music Mod, Wehrmacht Texture Overhaul, and NoGlow.

All of them active, except mod NoGlow apparently. Is this one of my mods that doesn't match your mod or bumping perhaps?

Fellow "No-Glow"ers, it would be great if one of you would post a "Howto..." Blog on what to change, so you won't have to be nagged each time Eugen sneezes and the Mod get's 'incompatible' again?

Share the burden of being awesome and we could undo the nonsense ourselves? Please. :)

It's GameData\Gameplay\Gfx\UnitRenderStyle.ndf There are just three lines to edit, and you can probably figure them out on your own. :) I make it a policy of not doing combined mods myself, because I unfortunately don't have the time to keep a bunch of mods properly updated.

The Reinforce Infantry mod page has instructions in the description on what file to edit and lines to change, and im almost positive he put on there that other mod-makers are free to incorporate it into their own if they'd like. I tried putting the two together myself earlier but I wasnt sure what file to edit for unit occlusion

@Spyyre: That would be up to the maker of that mod. My mod is a very simple edit of just a couple of lines in one file, so it's very easy to add it to other mods, and other mod makers are welcome to contact me any time.

subscribed hell yes! At first I wasn't too displeased with the glowing until I checked some replays for vids and pics and realised shit wa glowing in those too... so stupid. Thank you for simple yet fantastic mod

... since when do buildings change color(!!) when enemy/friendly troops enter them?

It's like Eugen is annoyed by us (or me) complaining with each update, to the degree that they are doing all this nonsense on purpose. I rarely get angry over video games, but these Duders are pushing it.

Welcome to using mods in Steel Division!
Thanks to the terrible mod structure that Eugen created, practically no mod is ever compatible with another mod, and even simple graphica edits like this count as changing giant chunks of data such as all the unit stats. So, the game doesn't care whether a change to these files is to make units stop glowing or to give all Allied tanks triple damage. It's a horrible mess of a system, but it's not my mess.

I doubt it, max. Assuming any lag you have is actually graphics related, you won't see an improvement unless the game stops processing the models when they're occluded. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean your computer isn't processing them, and this won't change that.

Sorry to disturb but I'm desperate to use this mod and can't seem to get it working! I've subscribed and activated with no errors but when I start an offline skirmish the horrible glows are still there (both units and buildings). Have also tried it via the sound mod with no luck.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :)

Generally, though, the mod will work after most updates just fine. Just ignore the message about it being out of date. Just because the version numbers don't match doesn't mean there's any problem at all... usually. ^_^

Rhedd -> im mp only :) Even mp replays needs clear start. This mod doesnt affect game mechanics, still.. i can run probably ONLY my own host. Ok.. its mp at the end :)
