oh, nice to know. I might get back to the game sometime

This mod is obsolete now, laser antennas are infinite in vanilla (But use exponentially more power the further they connect).
Torres 4 Σεπ 2019, 18:23
ownership is mine but it won't work keeps trying to connect

Hi there, I have even tried to put two lasers like 10 blocks apart and they cant seem to find each other. I am using a 350 speed mod, maybe some conflict?

Ok cool, that would be cool to make a new one that takes a ton of power but can transfer power across a range of like 40 or 50km hahaha just a thought.

thanks for the reply!

I think it is but it's beyond what I can do on space engineers at the moment.
Bobisback 16 Αυγ 2016, 16:21
Is it possible to mod power transfer into Laser Antenna's?

you can actually make it, download this and the no los version from the other mod, compare the files and merge them
Pklmao 8 Μαϊ 2016, 20:00
i love the range wish i could find one with no los but this range option lol

Nice! I Like it! Finally I can use my Satellite System on Bigger Planets aswell! :D

No problem, thanks for reporting!

Sorry, I will delete my comment, it appears the laser radar causing the issue was from the Small Ships Mega Mod. I apologize for the confusion
Gato  [Δημιουργός] 1 Μαϊ 2016, 12:50
strange, if this happens to other people too then I'll look more into it. tbh it's a minor modification, so I have no idea how it could go wrong. Do you have a lot of ships on your server?
Gato  [Δημιουργός] 11 Φεβ 2016, 3:14
the models aren't changed so yes it works just the same in DX9 and DX11

it might be a game related bug then. Glad to know it's working fine for you :steamhappy:

I've done some testings and found out that, this time, this mod worked just fine. I placed relay sattellites at about 395km apart from each other and having them linked just fine. Doing all this i recalled that when i first tried it, i happened to have two linked but for some reason the furthest one's Control Panel wasn't accessible, even though the ship itself was in the accessible in the dropdown menu. I've also had the game crash but that's probably more due to my excessive admin commands and/or copy/pasting, but figured i'd still point it out.

I can't quite figure out what i did wrong (if i did), but it seems to be working fine now. Tested in 2 different worlds, pre-planets sandbox and the easy-start planets one. Both worked fine this time.

I didn't try the pseudo-infinite one as it just didn't appeal to me, but i will for the sake of understanding what's going on there. Hopefully it wasn't just me freaking out.

I would suggest around 100-200km for small ones and somewhere between 500-1000 or something for large ones (small>big scale is 5-1 anyways, right ?). Big ones to do some deep space exploring too, why not :3
Gato  [Δημιουργός] 25 Νοε 2015, 2:45
that's strange, I can't think of a reason why this wouldn't work. Have you tried with the other laser antenna mod? (pseudoinfinite laser antenna). If it doesn't work with this version as well, it means my mod has a problem, otherwise it could be an ingame bug.

As for the antenna range, yes I should make it so you need just one relay to communicate between planets with large ships, and just one relay between planet and moon for small ships. I'll be experimenting on that.
Acid 24 Νοε 2015, 16:47
I simply added mod, tried to link a large ship with a small one around 150-200Km apart (earth-moon distance approx, from the new planetary 'easy start' scenario) with no obstacle between them. Didn't worked, tried reloading the save and the game both. It just seemed to me like the range didn't change. Could link them just fine from rather close though, no big surprises there. Tried another similar mod and it seemed to work just fine.
I experimented a lot with your 'Better Laser Antenna' mod, it should have worked i think *scratches head confusedly*
Btw, I would lower the range in the hundred-ish too, instead of in the thousands as another option and for personnal tastes. While Vanilla's laser antenna's range is so bad, still wanna keep a certain hint of challenge wouldn't we :D

Please say how change laser antena to infinet range? Or 4847300000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000*28463625000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000. Contact skype -"mrdimont92" or (my steam profile) P.S nope )

Can you describe what you tried? It would be best to share your world on the workshop so I can have a look at it.
Acid 24 Νοε 2015, 0:26
I was looking for a mod that rebalanced the Laser Antenna for better range than plain Antennas, and this one looked very interesting as i was hoping to set up long range communication relays between planets. Sadly, it seems it's not working for me. Any help or tips would be welcome !
TearofWyvern 20 Νοε 2015, 4:53
That's a pretty cool mod !
