@Zolvous Zera'Tul Which settlement were you experiencing issues with?
Hex 22 hours ago
And maybe two Vampire settlement renames
Hex 22 hours ago
Liardmen only have three Skaven settlement renames.
Zolvous Zera'Tul 19 Jan @ 4:39pm
Might of missed it but I don't see any renaming if the Lizardmen take over a settlement

@Morcalvin As per description, I believe this should work but I have not tested myself.

Does this work with IEE?

@Azure Eagle Ahhh that explains why I couldn't find Garban Hold. I was looking for Garben Hold. I'll probably add these in.

@emerald10005 I might add this in as an unloreful location but I'll need to consider it a bit more.
emerald10005 7 Jan @ 6:24am
While Crookback Mountain has no relation, I think it would be an apt name for it considering "Crookback" doesn't sound very Chaos Dwarf-y and more Skaven-y
emerald10005 7 Jan @ 6:23am
Bazherak was an ancient Chaos Dwarf general who fought against the ancient Nehekharan realm at its peak (back when it was human). They engaged in multiple bloody battles around modern-day Anurell's Tomb and north of Nagashizzar

Grim Duraz is also in the approximate same location as Blackstone Post on the Realms of Chaos map
Ydok4  [author] 6 Jan @ 10:44pm
@emerald10005 Where is Bazherak coming from? I know there's a character with this name.

@Azure Eagle Do you have a source for Grim Duraz and Garben Hold? I found a reference to Grim Duraz in the wiki but not seeing anything for Garben Hold.

no I was asking in advance before trying.
If you think it won't clash I'll definitely try!
Ydok4  [author] 2 Jan @ 6:31pm
@Last Watcher Are you actually experiencing any issues when using this with Radious?
Last Watcher 2 Jan @ 6:16pm
renaming a town with lore that fits the conquering faction? I don't think Radious is doing that.
Ydok4  [author] 31 Dec, 2024 @ 3:29pm
@Last Watcher If Radious isn't already doing something similar. I don't see why this isn't already working. What is the issue you are experiencing?
Last Watcher 31 Dec, 2024 @ 10:38am
any plans to make this compatible with the Radious overhaul mods?
Ydok4  [author] 28 Dec, 2024 @ 3:09pm
@Nukular Power I just played a Greenskin campaign and didn't have any issues with crashing. Can you please try again with just this mod?
Nukular Power 28 Dec, 2024 @ 10:32am
causing crashes for me around turn 6-7 with any faction. It's always on a greenskin turn that it crashes, either Crooked Moon or Bloody Handz. Dont have anything I can imagine would conflict, only about 10 mods, but turning this off stopped the crashes so hey

and
* like this mod (and lots of lexicons), iron = "zul"
* English seems to be translated in the same word order as Khazalid (iron + rock = Zul Duraz)
* one word because it is a mountain made out of iron (which seems to be like other compound words)
* the signifier suffix "-az" for specific place (mentioned in lexicons) would go after the second word (duraz) but is not needed because it already ends in "az" (and Zuldurazas doesn't sound as cool)
cybergroover 18 Dec, 2024 @ 3:08am
* "Iron Rock" is the English translation from the Khazalid (which might be the case as it is "a mountain formed of molten iron" https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Iron_Rock)
*Iron Rock is a minor settlement, a large mine well known for its iron, and close to the capital Karaz-Karak and another major settlement Black Crag. In my head cannon it would be seen as pretty small compared to these. This is supported if it being called "Rock" (rather than "Hold" or "Mount") is it meant to be kind of diminutive compared to a hold especially because of the large holds next to it.
* rock is "duraz" (according to some lexicons like: https://www.reddit.com/r/totalwar/comments/14nx9i3/do_you_also_rename_settlements_based_on_the_race/) which is like the object that is rock that is larger than a stone (rather than just the natural material that is rock), which seems to be suggested by that lexicon

Many thanks this! I've been trying to find a Dwarfern (Khazalid) translation of the Iron Rock settlement. I see it's listed as "Karak Zul" (Translation) which I think literally means "Iron mountain/stronghold/enduring".

I wonder if an alternative translation could be: "Zulduraz" (which I got from here https://www.reddit.com/r/totalwar/comments/14nx9i3/do_you_also_rename_settlements_based_on_the_race/) , but this is based on a whole lot of assumptions, and I don't know how Khazalid grammar works:

@sml144 Woops, thats what I get for doing this quickly. Thanks for the report, should be fixed now.
sml144 14 Dec, 2024 @ 11:28am
In the 'script/new_settlement_who_dis/loc_to_setting.lua' file the correct keyword is 'translation', not 'translations'. Check it out.

Does this work with OLD WORLD map mod?
Ydok4  [author] 4 Dec, 2024 @ 12:33am
@JesusChristIsLord Should work mid campaign. Not sure what happens if you remove it though.

Save game compataible?
Chrissant 29 Nov, 2024 @ 4:49am
Thank you! I checked and saw the whole list. ^_^;
It seems another user did make some recommendations.
Ydok4  [author] 29 Nov, 2024 @ 2:09am
@Chrissant No, there's no renames for those settlements at this time. Take a look at the Google doc for what settlements are supported.
Chrissant 29 Nov, 2024 @ 1:49am
I was referring to the settlements south of Hexoatl, owned by the New Colonies like Swamp Town or Port Reaver. I thought that those settlements would be renamed to something more "Lizardmen-like" if I took over them as Hexoatl. I did notice some other settlements in the area being renamed though.
Ydok4  [author] 28 Nov, 2024 @ 12:39pm
@Chrissant Can you explain what you mean by your last point? Can you give me an example?
Chrissant 28 Nov, 2024 @ 5:05am
It seems the mod did work after all. I think it was a mod load order issue since I myself tinker with my own mods. By the way, a lot of Lizardmen settlements in Lustria or close to Lustria don't really have alternative names for when the LIzardmen take them back. I hope the features gets added soon. ^^
Ocelot 27 Nov, 2024 @ 3:32pm
beware installing midgame wipes existing custom names, but that's reasonable of an expectation
Ydok4  [author] 27 Nov, 2024 @ 11:08am
@Chrissant There's no reason why it shouldn't work with SFO. Is it an issue with a specific settlement or overall?
You may have a script break. Double check with just this mod and SFO.
Chrissant 27 Nov, 2024 @ 3:58am
It seems this doesn't work with SFO. :( But amazing mod nonetheless.
JonnyMentero 25 Nov, 2024 @ 11:16pm
none of them work, i assure you, even if i raze a settlement and take it again, it doesn´t change name.
Ydok4  [author] 25 Nov, 2024 @ 11:07pm
@JonnyMentero All good!

I would be keen for someone to try and see if any of it works. There's a lot more to getting this working properly than just adding in new regions. It needs new design considerations as some of the renames are now separate settlements and others don't make sense because of the way some of the capitals have been split up.
JonnyMentero 25 Nov, 2024 @ 10:18pm
oh shit, sorry for not reading it rigth, thanks for answer
Ydok4  [author] 25 Nov, 2024 @ 12:42pm
@JonnyMentero I haven't actually tested but as mentioned in the description, I don't believe it will work.
