1. Make sure all other spray-related mods are disabled
2. After that make sure the mod is enabled and restart the game
3. Then check whether the mod is working, if so or not (in both cases), select every single spray (choose it and then apply), join private game, leave and restart the game one more time

And I am almost certian that one of these will get your mod running well

found the problem nvm, im just a moron

so yeah i currently subscribed to it but for some reason the sprays dont work, i checked my other mods and i dont seem to have another spray mod.

You go to the \workshop folder (full path in comment below) and look for the mod, if you have default sorting options, a .vpk file should be to the right of the thumbnail. You want to right click on the .vpk file and choose "open with", then choose gcfscape. And now, you are able to see all the mod files.

And one more thing, if you are interested in original gifs (I am only guessing), wouldn't that be easier to search the original artists socials?

So, after you download the mod (subscribe to it and then open the game to let it install) head to \Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop and here you can find any addon you will ever download. Also if you want to open those files you will need the GCFScape app.
