and every time i try to apply it it fails any ideas?
It is not the[item name = ""], but the [displayname=""]
I noticed that some of your mod items and creature names are defined in the corresponding XML and cannot be re translated using external translation XML.
For example, in the translation file < entityname. K_ em_ Coelanthfang > example < / entityname. K_ em_ Coelanthfang >, this cannot take effect because you defined [item name = "coelanth Fang"] in [survivor extended monsters fixes \ items \ materials. XML].
The correct way is [item name = ""], so that the name of this item can be defined in the translation file.
