Curious if anyone has a way to change the road on this? With upgrade untouchable I can change the ends segments but not all the way through
Phantom Xiang 2. apr. 2024 kl. 9:07
The station track is a little too long; therefore, trains can't find paths sometimes. I recommend to shorten the track to ~176m (vanilla cargo station length) with Move It.
admiral8q 23. maj 2023 kl. 7:33
Ok I've tested this. Using both CIMF through and CIMF End. I have not seen any trains 'spawn'. Trains will go in and sometimes take the freight out, but so far I haven't seen any trains actually spawn to go out.
So I suppose using these alone are not going to work well. You'll need the other freight stations to 'spawn' trains. Also I do not recommend using these for inter-city (To and from away), only inner-city rail networks.
admiral8q 23. maj 2023 kl. 4:49
@Claudius Aetius - Do you mean for the external inter-city freight? I have only been using the CIMF's for internal lines, mostly in commercial areas. I don't see why not, but it would be good to test it. I'll switch one of my external "To and From Away" terminals and see what happens.
Claudius Aetius 22. maj 2023 kl. 11:04
Hi I like very much your work, but I have a question: can I use only one of the units as a cargo station for all city? I'm doing that, but it seems no train arrived, despite the fact truck are loading stuff to export in it...
admiral8q 27. apr. 2023 kl. 6:17
@gunslinger (Been away a few months) I haven't really played with this station in the snow environment yet, so that may be an issue. I'll watch for that and see if I have the same problem. I have been playing my Train Empire city "Locomotiville" and have been using this freight station a lot with no problems. I mostly use the through-station, but do have a couple end-stations. Even though it fits on a 3-wide, I tend to leave 1-tile on each side anyways. Put in trees or something, or pedestrian/bike pathways.

But yes, maybe I'll play my winter city for awhile just to test this possible snow issue out.
SavingPrivateBryan 22. mar. 2023 kl. 10:24
I had an issue with this. It seemed to work for awhile but then trucks would enter the station and get "stuck" inside and never return to their buildings. The stuck trucks weren't despawning for some reason, causing industry buildings to run out of trucks and stop working. After I demolished the station all the "stuck" trucks started spawning where the station was and returned to their buildings.
Laratitan 6. mar. 2023 kl. 15:21
I'm having problems getting the 2-way station to export goods. I have it connected to your harbor station.

Harbor unloads the ship, loaded trucks enter one side of the rail station, then leave the other side empty, but no train is spawned.
edge2042 9. feb. 2023 kl. 17:19
snow piles up at enterance.
gunslinger 31. dec. 2022 kl. 6:30
@admiral8q no, that isnt it.
http://www.nightflame.info/img/cimfreight.png - looks like the snow wouldnt stay on the roof and just drop down to ground level...
admiral8q 2. okt. 2022 kl. 11:21
@Musharaf If you hook up a one-way road to both ends, it works fine as a one-way on the interior. I do this sometimes.

Of all the freight-train assets, this is by far my favourite for using in commercial areas. Nice and slick. :)
Musharaf 26. aug. 2022 kl. 0:56
Nice! But one thing. It would be great to have ability change internal road to one way. Or one way version of this.
Moofrog 19. apr. 2022 kl. 7:08
amazing & clever design, really useful
admiral8q 19. mar. 2022 kl. 7:17
@gunslinger My guess is the snowplows can't get in. (A programming thing) So, unfortunately probably not a good idea to use in a "Winter" city.
gunslinger 30. jan. 2022 kl. 22:12
Great asset! Appreciate your work, thank you.
One problem tho: doesnt work well on winter maps. There's a snow-like pyramid on the whole road length.
admiral8q 13. nov. 2021 kl. 15:53
 I was actually quite surprised that it's fully animated and works excellent! So cool seeing the trucks go in/out on both sides. I'm giving a "gotta have it" award. Heh!
admiral8q 13. nov. 2021 kl. 15:51
I placed the "through station" one in a Commercial zone in my city. Flattened the terrain first. Elevated rail in and out. It seems to be working perfectly, though I'll have to observe for awhile to make sure.

It is unloading trains from my industrial areas or from the sea cargo port trains and supplying the commercial buildings. The main thing I like about it (Other than it looks cool, lol) is that it takes up alot less space than the vanilla cargo train station.

The elevated tracks is great for the reason you said in the description. No interference with the train movement crossing roads. I did make a bypass track though, as usual, underground, for trains that aren't stopping there.

Interestingly the map I'm playing is Norwegian themed so very hilly/mountainous. Levelling the terrain on both sides of this station at least one train length is what I did.

I'll try to remember to take some screenshots.

@admirial8q You will probably need an anarchy mod to get these stations right next to each other. I didn't expect vanilla game users to be searching in the workshop for assets.

I haven't planned on making ground versions of these stations as having access at both ends would cause a lot of traffic issues as you would end up with a lot of level crossings which would lead to massive traffic issues.

There is a single entry ground freight end station already on the workshop which was one of the assets that prompted me to design an elevated version.

Underground is quite tricky to implement as it's hard to get the tracks to align in a way that looks good. I used to think that underground freight didn't exist in the real world but I recently found out about the London underground postal train. I may look into this further in the future.
admiral8q 11. nov. 2021 kl. 17:27
I love this idea for cargo train stations!
I'll give it a try (Running no mods at the moment) and see if it works.

Did you make a ground level version? Or even an underground version?
squirrelarmyuk  [ophavsmand] 20. okt. 2021 kl. 10:03
Add a link of a screenshot of where you have the stations. I can have a look to see if there's anything that is causing you problems.
路人甲 20. okt. 2021 kl. 3:18
There are problems with both. The two-way freight station does not export goods and does not import goods. The other one only exports goods and does not import goods

The freight station on the two-way track doesn't work. It only imports goods and doesn't export goods. The other one is in normal operation. You can put a new experiment! CIMFreight Elevated Station Double Pack

@472353274 Can you please explain what you mean. If the barges mod isn't working speak to the Bloody Penguin who is the developer of the mod. I have just created the asset which uses the mod.

I have just checked the asset in my test city and it is still working as designed.
路人甲 14. okt. 2021 kl. 8:40
The terminal can still operate. The two-way traffic doesn't leave. The mod of the port is broken. Please repair it. This is very useful to me. Thank the author

Lost Nomad 4. sep. 2021 kl. 8:36
@Enma Correct, that was my observation.
squirrelarmyuk  [ophavsmand] 4. sep. 2021 kl. 1:57
The asset has a spawn point for all the service vehicles. This is the end that snaps to the road when you first place it.

I've added additional cargo truck pathing so trucks can use both ends of the building.

Both roads need to be connected for the asset to work.
Enma 3. sep. 2021 kl. 6:45
So, if I understand what Lost Nomad was saying...

FRONT
* Empty Trucks Enter
* Empty Trucks Exit
* Service Vehicles

BACK
* Loaded Trucks Enter
* Loaded Trucks Exit

If we call the front the side that snaps to a road when placed.

NB: Traffic needs to be able to enter and exit both ends.

Is that about right?
Lost Nomad 22. juli 2021 kl. 14:47
And for my final observation now that's it's working, it's returning trucks will only enter at the frontend after dropping off cargo.
Lost Nomad 22. juli 2021 kl. 14:43
Also, the trucks will only exit the backend after a train dumps it's cargo at the station.

But the garbage trucks only enter through the frontend of the station.
Lost Nomad 22. juli 2021 kl. 14:33
Goddammit grrrr, I said to myself I should try connecting both ends, but the cynic in me said nah, it's a two-way road, no need.
Who's laughing now, cynic in me? huh?

lol, yep that got it working, tyvm for the help.

However I noticed now that although it's a two-way road, it seems to need to be connect at both ends because the trucks will only enter at the backend and exit at the frontend.
So if you think of the backend of the terminus as the end where the tracks connect, that is the end the trucks enter, and they exit at the other end. They will not enter/exit any other way, even if I force the issue with TM:PE lane arrows, and lane connectors.

But at least I can use it now, which will solve a lot of space issues for me, tyvm.
squirrelarmyuk  [ophavsmand] 22. juli 2021 kl. 8:32
Thanks for those pics, it seems like you only have one road connected to the station. Try having a road going to both ends of the station and see if that makes it work. I'll do some testing at my end too, having a single road going to the station was something I never tested as I designed the station with double entry as the primary purpose.
Lost Nomad 21. juli 2021 kl. 21:20
Okay just tried to connect the station again to a working internal cargo line but again it failed.
Here's a google drive link to a number of screenshots I took for you, hopefully they'll help.

Lost Nomad 21. juli 2021 kl. 19:54
No, I unsub'd since then, but I'll resub and set it up again to grab a screenshot for you.
squirrelarmyuk  [ophavsmand] 20. juli 2021 kl. 11:49
@lost nomad. Do you happen to have a screenshot of how you had it configured? I might be able to see if there are any issues
Lost Nomad 18. juli 2021 kl. 4:11
I so want these, but they don't seem to work for me.
I plumbed into an existing cargo line with the terminus version near my warehouses, but no trucks dump resources at the station, and no trains arrive or leave the station.
After much frustration relaying the line, I replaced the terminus version with a vanilla cargo station and everything worked straight away.
I also tried the pass through version which also did not work.
starfury1971 23. maj 2021 kl. 19:36
Oh there it is linked above in the description, SIM freight dock
starfury1971 23. maj 2021 kl. 19:28
I have the SIM freight warehouse & They are amazing, going to put a few of these in & a couple of the new Cim barge wharfs(can't remember there proper name).
WackRam 5. maj 2021 kl. 10:06
So far these seem to be working great! I have 2 external rail connections on different sides of the map connected to the terminus for outside trains and a separate line on another terminus facing the opposite direction next to it for inside trains. Also I have another terminus connected to a Ship Cargo station to bring trains back and forth from the ocean.

I have a couple vanilla cargo stations spread throughout the city that send/receive freight from the outside lines and each other.

I do sometimes see a truck from a far off farm drive across the map to one of the external stations rather than deliver to the nearby farmers cargo station.
Groggybear 30. apr. 2021 kl. 4:54
Youre a wonderful human
WackRam 30. apr. 2021 kl. 4:27
I am hoping to use these to replace the internal/external racetrack loop for outside lines with this.
squirrelarmyuk  [ophavsmand] 30. apr. 2021 kl. 2:18
@groggybear all lines will send and receive cargo. This configuration solves the usual issues caused by multi track cargo stations. Each line is it's own separate station with dedicated access. I've reduced the price of the stations as well to compensate.
Groggybear 30. apr. 2021 kl. 0:46
Does only the main station function fully or can all platforms send/receive cargo?
squirrelarmyuk  [ophavsmand] 28. apr. 2021 kl. 8:48
I’ve just subscribed to that and will see how it’s been done.
BrowncoatTrekky 28. apr. 2021 kl. 8:23
It is doable @squirrelarmyuk ... Nickayz and Luminou put together a great one.
squirrelarmyuk  [ophavsmand] 28. apr. 2021 kl. 0:37
Underground would be a huge gamechanger. I'll have to investigate and see if it's possible
BrowncoatTrekky 27. apr. 2021 kl. 16:37
Looking great @squirrelarmyuk Is an underground version in the works?
squirrelarmyuk  [ophavsmand] 27. apr. 2021 kl. 15:03
Thanks. I’ve got another design in progress that is a double tracked station with 3 points of entry for cargo trucks. I’m still working out the pathing issues for that one. It will probably also be a change from the CIM branding as well so it can fit in with the more commercial style of buildings.
Capnbludd 27. apr. 2021 kl. 14:45
More is good!

Nice job with this series.
