Description
This mod has been declared decommissioned. Galaxy in Conflict is the spiritual heir and users considering this mod are implored to instead download Galaxy in Conflict and ignore this mod. Existing users are encouraged to unsub and begin SB afresh with Galaxy in Conflict and its companion mod: Evolved Weapons System. United Systems Expansion is mechanically compatible with Galaxy in Conflict, but potential conflicts may arise with non-crashworthy code such as projectiles, some items, and enemies etc.

This mod does not represent the author/s current modding skills and abilities in other fields/mods, and should only be played for nostalgia reasons.

The below description is an archival of its original state and is in no way truthful to its statement. Dev commentary is highlighted below.

The United Systems Expansion mod is a lore-heavy story-orientated mod that aims to create a much more immersive universe for the player to explore in. It seeks to expand the story on Humanity and bring about a much more believable setting. Aiming towards a niche audience of Starbound Players, this mod aims not at the skies above, but back at the ground, grounding the story into a much more gritty setting in which moral and ethics are thrust 600 years into the future where the unvalued soul and hard worker die in the thousands every second. A galaxy where powers are formed and people are disenfranchised from home planet Earth.

Born out of a desire to put humanity into the spotlight, it grew from a simple USCM mod before it would eventually gain its independence of non-vanilla factions and splitting away from the stereotype of Earth and the USCM. Heavily inspired by the politics of Elite: Dangerous and the 20th Century Wars on Earth.

This mod aims to be as realistic as it can be, ranging from population counts to living conditions to the smallest details in mechanical engineering to even the basic logistics of transportation. It strives to be as realistic as it can be with SB's storytelling

Planets - 400 Billion Stars. 600 years in space.
Planets are part of an addon to this mod which adds in 11 planets to enhance the content of US.E. From the cities of lush worlds to the wartorn destruction of city-planets to even the most boring of rocks flying through the void.

Lore - To the end of Earth
The Terrene Protectorate was once a noble organization, turned party, turned global Earthern power. They had improved the life and living conditions of billions of people and heavily invested in automated labor, leading to a near-utopian status where the people were free to do what they wished. Many joined them, spreading across Earth and many surrounding systems to their cause. As their power grew, so did their ambitions. The only logical solution to the constant warring between humanity was to end the source of it altogether...

Humanity is still in the hundreds of billions. Earth isn't the only place where humans live.

"For such a claim, it doesn't do much better than what other mods do."


Questline - "A field of Battle"
A storyline of hour-long missions. From Field Engineers to Tanks, fight your way through the United System's abandoned "Frontline Theatre" Military and liberate Mars from their "iron grip". Engage in battles of attrition, fighting (or evading) your way through the Rebellion's military territories and their ever-evolving technologies. As you progress through the questline their weapons will improve and new enemies will appear as older techs are phased out for the War on Mars. [WIP | Currently, Chapter Mars is 60%-ish complete with 6-12 hours of mission gameplay]

"Could've been tied with story. One of the better parts, but makes no sense story-wise."


Weapons - An industrial arms race
Most weapons are basic, yet come with their advantages and classes. DMRs excel in the mid-range between Rocket Launchers and Assault Rifles. Anti-Tank Launchers are extremely slow but powerful against most enemies and are required to damage Armored Vehicles which are impervious to most types of damage. Standard rifles typically lack any type of secondary but are significantly more viable for their functions at straight-up damage.

"Vanilla weapons with bullet particles. Not much else. Go get FFS or Rexmeck for guns."


Npcs' - Running with Rifles
Fight actually difficult npcs. Different units perform differently and so an adaptive mindset and weapon loadout can change the tide of a shootout. All Troops will use a collection of unique weapons, suppress the player and will come equipped with unique abilities ranging from speed to deployments such as sandbags, turrets and reinforcements. This encourages the use of terrain-based cover, crouching and memorizing enemy weaponry.

"None of this is ultimately true. NPC weapons are always better than the player. A poor gameplay choice."


Factions - Fragmented Nation States
Each Faction is unique in their diversity. Each Faction focuses on specific weaponry and have different types of tactics and relationships with other factions. It is inevitable that war will come ranging from genocidal nationalism to the means of seizing another Empire's industry. Each Nation has a story to tell.

The Expanse
United Systems Expansion is purely an expansion mod. This means that it will never delete or replace content ever.

We're not trying to hold your files hostage. Your universe files are safe and you may unsubscribe at any time UNLESS you have already installed the Planets addon. Your player file however is not safe IF you have a US.E mission in your SAIL. Otherwise, your player files are safe and you may unsubscribe at any time.

Mod Pack Compilations: Only in collections. Not integrated into a single mod like FU.
Mod Assets: No permission required but only for studying purposes. Any other explicit purpose requires permissions.
Mod Add-Ons: Yes.

This is Med's work.
He made this before I started working with him.

He would like to delete it and have everyone forget about it.
He really would.

But then even more people would complain.
They already did when we brought up the mere prospect of removing it.

hey weebwing don't let the fanatic u.s.e and FFS fanboys get under your skin. in my hosnet opion opoion (i'm kinda right conserevitve here in poctical alment) galaxy in confict is just far more better and devoped anyway. it also most of this mods and FFS assests anyway. but galaxy in conclfit is far better bescue it has far more well devpoebed story and also is bascly this mod and feast fire and smoke combined. also i realy prefer gic beascue it has far more better stuff and acatly is much more compable with fraken universe and openrpg anyway. also my univrse is so old that bascly that is bascly just unable to be fully corupted anyway in the uniservse wide level. but planets and items do however will disaper into perfictly genetic items. but if you want to play gic you got to remove this U.S.E and FFS anyway bescue gess what the most of the factions from FFS and U.S.E are the main big factions in gic anyway.
