This is my first map for the gamemode Morbus. Which is basically TTT only 800% better in every regard.

For this map, I focused on theme and atmosphere. I did my best to make as many areas as possible unique from each other, so that players wouldn't feel as lost as the explored this labyrinthine mars base. It also includes soundscapes for each area, even though most people probably won't notice them during the round, they can add some small stngs of atmosphere here and there.

This map includes everything suggested by the official style guide.

-Four distinct areas to fulfill needs.

-Plenty of vents for humans and aliens alike.

-An armory, though you must find the keycard in one of four locations first to open it.

-A medbay.

-Doors galore.

-A mix of enclosed spaces and open spaces, lots of entrances to every room.

Surface is set on Mars, in a large section of a research base. This base is connected by tram to the main Martian city on Mount Sharp.

As a result, it is no surprise that after the artifacts were thawed, the base was quarantined. The panic helped obscure the movements of the lifeforms as they slowly picked off researchers, civilians, and security one by one. The survivors quickly made their way to the tram station, packing what they could, raiding stashes of firearms, and closing the blast doors behind them.

Now it's just you, and the gusty darkness. The moaning pipes, and creaking walls, the gushing of water and steam through the busted vents...

Just you.

Alone in the blackness, the waning sun setting over the Martian wastes.

You hope and pray that it's just you. Anyone else and you'll have to share. You'll have to fight. You'll have to be afraid, to feel the neverending paranoia towards your 'peers'. Whatever they are now.

Somewhere, somehow, you hear a gush of presurrized air and the whirring of hydrolics- the buzzing of magnets.

A door has opened.

Someone is out there now...

The hair on the back of your neck stands up, you feel a gripping sensation of primal fear shaking you to your core.

Somehow you felt safer with the rotting corpses and the looming shadows.

You beg in timid whispers that it was automated. That it wasn't another person. Another thing.

Your fear begins to curdle, and turn into darker feelings.

Frustration.

Anger.

Hate.

You want this foolish person to die.
