Description
Athena’s Blessing: (turn on: Very Hard / Very Hard)
  • All true hoplites get phalanx (and AI uses it... OOF! )

  • Javelins (and similar) pierce armor (so don't let your armored units be sitting ducks!)

  • +50% campaign movement (AI can ambush you now!)

  • Realism on recruiting times. 90% of units are still 2 turn, but ultralight or unarmored footmen = 1 turn). Inexperienced units (adolescents, levies etc.) can be mass produced, but their costs are roughly doubled.
    (this is historical... most cultures (on occasion) had to raise a militia army in a few months or less (3 months = 1 turn) (extremely high cost -but reduced upkeep)

    "CAPTAIN! --I want every man, woman, and child (that can hold a spear), armed and on the field for live training in 2 hours!" -Your general, probably.

@ Aristoxenus, hoplites are unchanged stat-wise...
just added a phalanx button. :steamthumbsup:

(hoplites were historically known to fight both in and out of phalanx, so this was changed to match

i have some phalanx tactics that even the romans have a hard time with, and pikemen are few and far between so hoplites fill in and allow for a phalanx line.
