How to get achievements in Half-Life 2 (20th Anniversary Update) if you got them earlier in episodes

If you have previously earned achievements in episodes, you can transfer them to the updated version of Half-Life 2 (20th Anniversary Update).

To do this, you just need to launch and close the episodes, and then launch Half-Life 2.

Straightforward solution

1. Install Half-Life 2 (now it already includes all episodes):

https://steamoss.com/steamstore/app/220/HalfLife_2/

2. Launch and close the first episode:

steam://rungameid/380

3. Launch and close the second episode:

steam://rungameid/420

4. Launch Half-Life 2 and you will immediately receive achievements:

steam://rungameid/220

Note: The commands

steam://rungameid/XXX

should be executed in Windows Run (Win+R).

Through Steam interface

Alternatively, you can manually install and launch episodes through Steam interface.

Make sure that your library shows "Tools" (it's in the same place as "Games", "Soundtracks", "Software", "Videos"):

Then, through the search, find, install, launch and close the episodes and then launch Half-Life 2.

Thanks for the guide, but what about timestamps? I guess everything gets unlocked with a current timestamp, not with the old one, when you actually got the achievement. People may think you just used sam to unlock.
