In my testing late game I only got 5 fps difference from vanilla, with a lot of units on screen and effects.
Can you try run the same low fps scenario without the mod and see the difference?
At least, that's what worked for me. It didn't download the mod until after I ran the game again, i don't know why.

Construct tiles are remnants of ZEPHON's "back up plan" for energy source in case it gets shut down, to keep fighting during the world ending war against the Acrin. Its very important part of the lore IMO.
Its supposed to look numeric like both on the ground and the threes should look like coding turned into three.
