Description

This mod allows players to be able to store maps into files, so they can be loaded into other saves without any hassle.


- Save maps so you can play them whenever you want to.
- Load any map into any save file without any issues.
- Rename maps to keep them in order.


- Whenever you are looking at a map you want to save, open the mod options menu, and press "Save Map".

- Whenever you want to load a map, look at the one you want to replace, open the mod options menu, and press "Load Map".


- Can this mod save & load maps that are running mods?
+ Yes, it can save the maps, and even if the mods are missing, it will load the map removing anything that is missing from the game.

- Does this mod also store the pawns that were in the map when saving?
+ Yes, the saved maps will include the map pawns, you will be asked if you want to replace your current ones with the map's.

- What happens if loading a map spawns things on top of existing pawns?
+ The game is smart enough to figure this out, it will move them to the nearest habitable spot if nothing goes terribly wrong.

- What happens to structures like ancient dangers, mechanoid clusters or insect caves?
+ They still get carried over when saving/loading the map, and will work as expected when you use it.

All mountains are transparant when loading a map. My guess is that it's regrowth causing issues, but I am unsure.

Great mod. For anyone experiencing issues with Project RimFactory storage, this mod does not correctly transfer storage contents that are in the Digital Storage Units or similar storage. It will save like 12 random items (seems like all apparel even if no apparel was in that DSU).

It does work with some other storage mods including Reel's Expanded Storage. My solution for now is to move all contents from DSUs to Steel Containers and then deal with organizing back into DSUs after the map transfer.

where do i place map saver for map saver actually work 100% sure? i load my map but a lot of resource (inside adaptive storage mod) gone and only left like 10% of it

Tried this with a rather extensive mod list, with this mod very near the bottom of the list. The physical map itself mostly saved, mountains, water, etc. but an arbitrary chunk of my wooden walls decided to vanish, collapsing the roof. Also it seems to randomly save and restore my pawns, regardless which option i choose. Sometimes one pawn saves, sometimes five, sometimes more.

Problems aside, most likely mod-compat problems, this seems like an extremely useful utility.

@jacobellinger Depending on the complexity of the map, it might take a while to load, freezes are expected as long as you can check the game is doing something (Check task manager, in the case of Windows).
