Nu-class Attack Shuttle (Vanilla)

설명
Mod.io version is available here.[mod.io]

"They're baaack!"
"I told you this victory was too easy. We never should have sent the ship back for supplies!"
"It wasn't my idea to send the ship back!"
(c)

History

Clone attack shuttle, or more officially - the Nu-class, is one of the first bestsellers by Cygnus Space Works, and one that would pave the way for the eventual success of the company under the Empire.
Having been made in thousands, these venerable shuttles were used in many roles: troop transports, gunships, boarding shuttles, VIP shuttles, cargo transports and even blockade runners. Having outstanding shields and a long-range hyperdrive, these machines performed the tasks even space versions of LAAT couldn't handle. However, some of the shortcomings became apparent, and an interest in an even bigger shuttle was expressed. Resulting Rho-class was not a replacement, but rather a temporary sidestep to suit specific applications, like those of the Republic Medic Corps.
With the announcement of Order 66 and reorganization of the Republic, these shuttles continued to serve on inertia, but a need in a proper replacement grew every day. Eventually, Nu and Rho will be replaced by Lambda and Sentinel respectively, while decommissioned shuttles became popular on the secondary market.

Pros: decent maneuverability, ludicrous armament, good amount of seats.
Cons: crowded troop compartment and a giant headache for any hangar manager.

Additional Notes:
  • Programmable blocks are turned off by default to improve performance. If you still desire to use them - access the terminal and toggle the group "Programmable Blocks" on.
  • Entering Pilot an Co-Pilot seats is pretty easy: just enter the shuttle, and aim up for the Seats.
  • Pilot and Co-Pilot seats are on a subgrid, so that's why you need Remote Control to fly the ship. Since all thrusters are on the main grid, Subgrid Thrusters script is not used / required.
  • Because wings have so much mass in them, rotor movement is pretty sluggish.
  • When I say "giant headache for any hangar manager" - I mean it. This thing is obscenely large, and practically speaking - really hard to use as a ship-to-ship VIP shuttle. Long distance use is also complicated by the lack of small grid Jumpdrives, so utility of this thing in SE is greatly limited.

Everyone's favorite 2008 Lego set is now in SE. Maybe I will do the Rho-class later (if I feel like it).

This is AMAZING, how long did take for you to make it?

Hello the world I first spawned it in does have mods but nothing that will interfere with rotors or anything just two gun mods the rest of the world is vanilla pretty much I even created a brand new world with zero mods just vanilla empty space and the ship still spins and freaks out when spawned in from what I can tell it seems the rotors act like they're jammed they're constantly trying to move or something but even if I put rotor lock on it doesn't stop them I did on my server rip the wings off and reattached just the front rotor but the wings still freaks out then I took it back off completely remove the rotor and replaced it with a standard rotor and removed all the conveyors and pipe stuff in the wing and put it back on now the wings are fine with no problems besides that the single rotor doesn't have enough power now to lift the wing up on a planet

@Mr. Leo obviously shouldn't do it. Could be the classical SE issue of just having too many subgrids. Do you use any mods by chance? Or the world is completely vanilla? Any info could help narrow it down. Could also be something exclusive to PS version of the game, since I am not familiar with it's differences at all.

Hello this might be weird but I try to leave a comment on mod.io but my account is having verification issues but I used this on PlayStation and it looks great but every time I spawn it in the rotors for the wings go crazy and causes ship to flip out and crash I try to fix it but nothing has work so far the only way to make it not go crazy is cutting the wings off still love the build tho 👍

you're right, a lot of others did change size/specs/load-out/role of various SW ships to make them "work" in SE. But at least for me, most of them are too boxy, too slow, don't do the job right, use too much fuel, don't look right, etc. The ones that got closest before you: Modded AF. No thanks, you actually give us models that will still work in 5 yrs since they don't rely on mods that break over time. That's what I appreciate the most about your models. Yeah, some want you to release faster, but me? I'd rather wait 3 months and get a lore accurate yet SE friendly AND functional ship than have something in that lineup borked beyond repair. Just my worldview, for those who care :P

@Ahsoka Tano I really appreciate the kind words, thanks! What I mean is that a true replica will never quite match a purpose built ship. Good example of that would be various LAAT-styled ships people have made over the years: they are often bigger to accommodate more fuel, feature a pressurized troop compartment and get away with various gimmicks like swinging doors or ball turrets. Obviously, I couldn't do any of that, since I had to work within an already defined size and features.

TL;DR: I do try my best, and I love that people enjoy at least the relative practicality of my models, but they are still replicas whose purpose is to look like Lucasfilm CGI models from 20 years ago.
: )

honestly, I fail to see how this isn't practical. It's heavily armed, and with shields added, would be perfect for space/ground operations and punching through blockades. Its part of why I love these ships that Alec R. has put out up to this point. They're close to what they were in lore, while also being useful :)

@Zocki505 just paste another one and use Shift+P. I really don't remember that stuff off the top of my head.

Hey i really like that design as a star wars fan, now as you have mentioned, its not so practical which is why im making my own version (just carved out the insides and filling it with what i personally need), i wanted to ask if you remember the colour values you used for the paint job as i had to cut it open and reattaching things.
