[Fractured Frontier] UPR Preview Pack

Fractured Frontier is a sci-fi mod project I've been sporadically working on over the past year or so. Because I am reconsidering the direction and focus of the project, and whether or not I'll have the time to finish it, I decided to release some previously made assets that may or may not appear in the final version, or may undergo changes in the meantime, for the sake of posterity.

If you wanna know the Youpies' biggest problem, look at their name: "Union of Planetary Republics". The hell even is a planetary republic? You ask them, they'll tell you it's what a post-colonial society should be: One planet, one people, one government. Except that's obviously not how it works. In fact, you can ask them a lot of things about the post-Earth galaxy at large, they'll tell you all about what the answer *should* be, and not much about what it actually is.

Just like how they thought any military conflict could be resolved in orbit, and any terms could be negotiated with threats of orbital bombardment. Well, they found out they were wrong there too when things kicked off in the Teleron system. They realized they couldn't just bombard Kessler to make insurgents magically disappear from the population, and even with their fancy EM guns, small security details for surface excursions and bases don't last long in ambushes. Their "Expeditionary Security Service" may be a genuine interplanetary fighting force now, but for all their advanced tech, they're still rolling around in converted rovers and dropping in via unarmored landers. You can tell they'd much rather be exploring than fighting.
