Description

A small town called Ashenwood.

The town grew fast as people wanted to settle somewhere outside of the city but still have all the service and entertainment of the big cities. More and more houses popped up as well as a few small businesses that decided to try their luck in this little town. The growth of AshenWood was well underway when people started hearing about the outbreak. Most people grabbed what they could carry and tried to make it out, leaving everything else behind, causing the growth of the town to halt just as fast as it had started. A few tough people however, decided to stand their ground and fortify what they could in an attempt to fight off whatever this virus would bring with it.

Most of the buildings are custom made for this map.

BEWARE , This map includes buildings with lots of tricky corners and cramped spaces, watch your step!

Bikes, junkpiles, decor items and trash, can be picked up and moved, or destroyed with sledgehammer.

Conflicts with other map mods that uses the same cells (38,38 - 38,37)
If the map isnt there in your game, you have to start a new run.

Well made town. It has a bit of everything, a block trash VHS shop, a book store, a school with library, restaurants, two gas stations at the north and south entry point, a hardware shop, some fresh food store, etc. And most of them are barred, you can find survivors' modified base inside with barricade and tents and stuff. Very fun, not insanely hard and lore friendly. But until you find a crowbar many of those barricaded windows and doors are going to be a pain.

Recently did a random spawn and ended up in Ashenwood for the first time ever. It's a pretty well-made town with only a couple issues. I didn't look literally everywhere, but there's a small abandoned fire station with impassible stairs and there's a lot of sight-blocking tiles that shouldn't be sight-blocking - not the maps fault, that's the tileset at fault, but this map overuses those particular tiles quite a bit. There's a couple instances of junkpiles on the other side of a doorway so even if you get the door open, you can't move the junkpile as per normal game mechanics (can't pickup/place through doorways). Need a sledge in those cases.

Overall a high quality map and I highly recommend it. I also recommend Cheat Menu: Phoenix just in case a bugged stairwell traps you, or you want to traverse up bugged stairs - you can use the Fly Mode cheat to deal with those spots.
