Description
If you're looking for practical ways to recycle all your hoarded stuff and turn it into useful products, Viperel has got you covered!

B42 version available HERE .

By disassembling classic watches, jewelry, tools, cutlery, containers, and other metal items, you can obtain scrap metal that can be repurposed into a wide range of useful items; including nails, screws, wire, barbed wire, hinges, knobs, metal sheets, padlocks, sledgehammers, and even vehicle parts*.

*You can use my other mod Viperel's Vehicle Spare Parts to create new Vehicle parts & windows.

The recipes are designed to be practical/realistic and utilize the materials available in the vanilla game. The goal is to provide an all-in-one recycling solution that offers a logical distribution of materials and EXP based on the items weight.


The MOD is split into 3 separate parts:
  • RecyclingCenter - Main mod covering all dismantling recipes (excluding vehicles parts)
  • Recycle_QoL - Extra QoL recipes are available here
  • Recycle_Vehicles - Dismantle vehicle parts (made separate so recipes don't overlap with other mods also covering this. For example this is unneeded if already using Vehicle Repair Overhaul mod)


Recycling:
  • Dismantle various items such as tools, cutlery, jewelry, containers and more to obtain scrap metal, which can be used in a variety of crafting recipes.
    The amount of scrap & exp resulted from dismantling, will vary based on the item's weight. Even BROKEN items can be recycled!
  • Classic watches and Jewelry will give ScrapMetal in batches of 3 (you need any 3 items to obtain a scrap for balance). The items need to be in your CHARACTER inventory/ equipped bags to work. -many thanks JS-
  • Turn all Underwear and Shoes/Sneakers/Boots/Wallets/Leather items into their respective materials for Tailoring and Strength EXP. (Tights & BowTie are excluded for now)
  • Turn empty cans into aluminum to make jar lids & welding rods.
  • Dismantle Electronics such as amplifiers, receivers, transmitters, remotes and Electric Guitars into Scrap Electronics.
  • Recycle all types of glass into Glass Shards, which can be smelted into GlassPanes with a craftable Mold.
    They can be used in making Windows for your house or even vehicle*
    ( Viperel's Vehicle Spare Parts required).
    Note that Glass Panes have only 1/3 chance of succeeding if your metalworking skill is low, but fear not, glass is 100% recyclable and you will receive shards if it fails, so you can try again!
  • Dismantle vehicle parts

QoL Recipes/Features:
    Cooking Improvements:
  • Jars of food will last 10 months in fresh state, compared to only 2 in vanilla (they have to be cooked).
  • Make Fruit Jam out of Berries, Strawberries, Radishes and Carrots (requires heat)
  • Turn meat from traps into Dried Meat (it's not as fulfilling but it's not perishable)
  • Make Canned Potato/Tomato/Carrot (items exist in vanilla but can't be crafted)
  • Open cans with a Kitchen/Hunting Knife or Cleaver.
  • You can now put vegetables back in their sack (in vanilla you can only take them out)

    Crafting Improvements:
  • Craft QoL items such as Fishing Tackle, Needles, Chipped Stone, Tea Bags, Garbage Bags, Tarp, Sacks, Notebooks, Mops, Pasta and Jars.
  • You can also make household essentials like Glue, Soap, and Cleaning Liquid from common items.
  • Prepare Charcoal for grilling using logs.
  • Craft Baseball Bats, Crowbars, and even a sledgehammer (high skill requirement, so that you're more likely to find them until being able to craft)
  • Repair your favorite katana, machete and wood axe
  • Craft padlocks and combination padlocks for MP security.
  • Anyone can craft basic bombs as Pipe bomb, Aerosol bomb & Flame bomb (no longer gated behind the engineer profession)
  • Wooden windows are now craftable (remove old window from the wall with a crowbar and replace)
  • Use Cement Powder to make Plaster (had no use in vanilla)

    Tailoring Improvements:
  • Convert Ripped Sheets & Denim into Rope, Thread, & Twine, even the dirty ones while improving your Tailoring. With these materials you can create a variety of items like belts, leather gloves, slings, pillows, sacks, towels and scarves.
  • Repairing Bulletproof Vests (Civilian, Police, Military) is now possible with Tailoring lvl 4.
  • Craft Leather Jeans (in vanilla they are very rare but have higher scratch resistance than Firefighter pants)
  • Make a warm Wooly Hat using Yarn & Knitting Needles with Tailoring lvl 5.

    Other Improvements:
  • Refill lighters & make matches (lighter will last TWICE as long and won't disappear when empty).
  • Mix and make paint, color light bulbs or clean them with petrol.
  • Some items are renamed for better sorting including maps, vehicle parts, strips, hair dye, paint, lightbulbs, seeds, traps, radios and wearables (best to use with Better Sorting, will not disrupt other recipes or mods).

Favorite items/tools inside your inventory to exclude them from being recycled (unneeded for PropaneTorch or WeldingMask


Can be added to an existing save safely! No compatibility issues and works in MP v41.78+.
(It's recommended to keep only one recycling mod as similar recipes might overlap, but won't break anything)

There is a separate B42 version now HERE . Modifying the same mod to accomodate both version seems to break both in various ways. Now they are both stable on their own.

Author; Kindly make two mods. One for B41 and one for B42. Because you reverting back to the old version now breaks my B42.

I was just enjoying my B41 multiplayer gameplay with this perfect mod, but you destroyed that for me... YOU did this. now there will be no server because of YOU... such a shame :steamsad:

If you were gonna change everything anyway why not just make a new mod for B42. Why destroy the B41 mod that people are still ACTIVELY using?!!?!?!?!
