Vehicle Speed Control

Description
Speed limiter and auto-cruise modes for vehicles

This mod allows drivers to set a maximum speed for their vehicle, or to set an auto-cruise function for the vehicle to maintain set speed autonomously. The mod works for all vehicles that use tank, car or boat physic modelling.

The mod can be used client side in multiplayer, assuming the the mod key is whitelisted on the server.

Important
As of summer 2022 ACE3 mod now has very similar feature included!. If you are using ACE you do not need to run this mod, although having this enabled on wont cause you any problems. For unmodded players this mod is still of course relevant.

Great Mod but needs a resume button, having to retype the cruise speed again because U touched the brake is a fiddly ball ache, please add a resume button to make this mod awesome again!

Excellent mod! Very useful with HAFM naval units. Love it if you could make it work with the submarines too.

@marxman28 You may want to check your mission for those errors as this mod makes no changes to the physics simulation of the game. In fact this mods makes no changes whatsoever to the base game, it only provided GUI for functions added by BI on the 2.06 update.

While convenient, it broke other vehicle physics in the game. What I mean by that is that every vehicle that hasn't been used (by player or AI characters otherwise) just freezes there. They act like boulders and it changes their hitboxes to squares where their length defines the size of the square, which means that I can go careening at 200 kilometers an hour in a Strider after hitting what looked like air but the game interpreted as "obstacle."

Not to mention that when they're parked on slopes, they act as if they're on level ground and float over the slope.

Any chances of adding a keybind to engage/disengage cruise?
Would be even nicer if optional speed increase/decrease in set increments also have keybinds for it.

Is it possible for a player passenger to set a speed limit for a ai driver on the ground?
If this is out of scope for your mode, I understand.
