TL;DR: But what if Johnny was skeleton?!

Chester, the ghoulsih gambler, is ready to slice and dice in rivals of aether. Chester is obviously inspired by Johnny from guilty, what with having the same outfit and all, but he puts a new spin on the Iado gambler archetype. Chester utilizes strong sword normals and a unique "Card" system to keep opponents on their toes.

SPECIALS:
--------------------------------------------------------

Nspecial: Luck of the Draw
--------------------------------------------------------

Luck of the Draw (LOTD) is Chester's central gimmick. Chester starts each stock with 8 cards. Each time he uses Nspecial, he draws a card with varying effects. Cards can only be restored by a few methods outside of dying (which refills chesters deck). The Card effects are:

1: "discard": Chester throws his card in a straight line dealing minimal damage with the next use of Nspecial. If he hits an opponent with the card, he gets refunded 1 card.

2: "EX Bone Slicer": Makes Chester's next Bone Slicer gain more range and damage. The effect of this card is lost upon completing a bone slicer or drawing a new card.

3: "triple jump": As long as Chester has 3 as his current card he gains an additional mid-air jump. The effect of this card is lost upon drawing a new card.

4: "Grave rot": Chester's next Nspecial has him summon a cloud of poisonous mist that continually damages opponents inside.

5: "Rapid Slash": Makes Chester's next Bone Slicer Summon a rapidly hitting projectile at the tip of the blade. The effect of this card is lost upon completing a bone slicer or drawing a new card.

6: "Slash Dash": Chester's next Fspecial will be replaced by a fast-moving invincible lunge that leaves a hitbox behind him. The effect of this card is lost upon drawing a new card.

7: "Lucky 7": Upon drawing, Chester will become faster and invincible for a short period of time. The Card is immediately consumed upon being drawn.

8: "Onyx Ascension": Chester's next Uspecial will be replaced by a rapid hitting upward glide that launches opponents away at the end and doesn't leave you in freefall. The effect of this card is lost upon drawing a new card.

9: "Midnight Execution": Chester's next Nspecial will cause him to pull out his revolver and fire 6 shots straight ahead.

10: "Whiskey Inferno": Chester's next Nspecial will cause him to throw a slow-moving liquor bottle in an upward arc. This bottle detonates on its own after a few seconds in a ball of fire, but can be detonated early by striking it with any attack.

Ace: "Critical Bone Slicer": Makes Chester's next Bone Slicer gain much more range and damage in addition to igniting the opponent. The effect of this card is lost upon completing a bone slicer or drawing a new card.

Flaming ace: "Jackpot": Chester's next Nspecial will cause him to make time freeze before slashing forward. If this slash connects, he will perform a powerful super move that deals great damage.

Fspecial: Bone Slicer
--------------------------------------------------------

Bone Slicer is Chester's signature Iado style move. Tapping the button will cause Chester to immediately slash forward. If you hold the special button, Chester will keep his sword in its sheath until the button is released. Chester can move left and right (but not turn around) while his sword is sheathed by moving left and right with the controller. Chester can perform 3 types of Bone Slicers depending on which button is pressed during the charge.

Release Special: Forward/Mid (good knockback and deals 10%)

Press "jump" while holding special: Upward/High (High knockback angle and deals 11%)

Press "shield" while holding special: Downward/Low (Low scaling upward angle and deals 9%)

BONE SLICER CAN BE CANCELLED BY PRESSING DOWN/CROUCHING DURING SHEATHING

Dspecial: Skullduggery
--------------------------------------------------------

Skullduggery is Chester's counter. Upon activation, Chester will enter a defensive stance and become invincible. If an enemy attack hits him in this state, he will retaliate with a forward slash.

Uspecial: Sky Slicer
--------------------------------------------------------

Sky Slicer cause Chester to slice upwards with decent knockback.

Unique Mechanic: Charged forward air
--------------------------------------------------------

Chester's Forward air attack can be charged similarly to a strong attack by holding down the attack button in conjunction with the forward direction.

Unique Mechanic: Replenishing cards
--------------------------------------------------------

Outside of dying, Chester can only replenish his cards by either hitting an opponent with "discard" (refunds 1 card) or completing his entire taunt animation (refunds 1 card).

Chester's proportions and some attacks were made with reference to Johnny from Guilty gear petite.

Genuinely a really cool character, he'd make an awesome protagonist for a comic book, probably one made by Dark Horse
