Description


[05/22/2021]:




A new mod that'll allow you to explore the dark oil-based industry by adding a lot of new materials, options and chemicals. This mod does not require EM - Metals to work, however, you can unlock new content (and difficulty xD) if you enable it (Lite version is also supported).

This mod adds dark oil, a materials that was previously added by EM - Metals, as well as fossils, which are obtained via deep drill.



Expanded Materials - Plastics adds a completely new production chain based on dark oil.



EM - Plastics adds three new facilities to weave materials and synthetize the required chemicals.





This mod also adds new chemicals or "Neutroamine variations" which are used to synthetize most of the materials.
















EM - Plastics allows the creation of previously un-craftable vanilla items.

I have tested this mod with and without both Lite an Full versions of EM - Metals, as well as with VE, and I haven't found any major issues, if you find one, please report it so I can fix it as soon as possible :D



Q: Save game compatible?
A: Mostly yes, but back up your saves just in case.

Q: Do you plan to add compatibility for X mod?
A: I mentioned it above, also, if you want to make your own patch, you're free to do it :D

Q: Will you add X idea?
A: I'm probably going to expand this mod with a couple of small add-ons, I may implement your idea in one of those if it is good enough. >.<

First of all, I second this mod on 1.5 update to use deepchem instead of dark oil

Secondly- while lesser than this mod, there is Vanilla Chemfuel Expanded - Unofficial Expansion mod for 1.5. It really only allows to craft some vanilla items (synthetic clothes, plasteel and neutro) from deepchem.
Helps to scratch that itch is anyone is interested in manufacturing materials from oil until this mod gets updated to 1.5

I just want to put this out there: I'm looking to use bakelite as a resource. It may be early 20th century niche, but you could probably make a strong case for it being the most beautiful plastic.

I hate to say it but it's the good ol' "when it's done". Can't really estimate, I'm working on it and I'm making my best effort to make it balanced and nice to use. All I can say is that it won't take so long as EM - Metals did,

It would be very cool to see a mod that combines this and Vanilla Chemfuel expanded. (Basically just replace/make deepchem and dark oil work interchangeably, considering they are both basically the same thing.)
