My Own Worst Enemy

This mod was done as a submission for the Modding Den's[discord.gg] January 2021 Mod Jam, themed "Elf?". Mods made in the Mod Jam event are built around a specific theme, announced on the starting day, and are completed within 10 days of work.

As the one who chose the theme - and also hates Warhammer elves - I really painted myself into a corner here.

This go around, I decided to branch out from my usual stuff, and try to mess with animations, textures, and setting up my first ever unit!

What It Is

The Fallen of Mirai are a custom faction, agents of the Underworld and the gods Ereth Khial and Nethu. There's nearly no lore about them (which is why I decided to make this faction), but I'm building up themes of eldritch and cosmic horror, underwater nonsense a la Mathlaan, and generally corrupted / tormented / evil elves, or the souls thereof.

Right now, this mod only includes a single custom battle faction (led by a T-Posing Settra), with a single unit - the Feral Elves. The Feral Elves are a kitbash of some elf models, given a retexture for their face and skin, and given a bunch of animations from dryads and skin wolves that look absolutely horrendous on them.

Known Issues

The charge animation in particular is very weird, but there's some clipping all over the place. Extra eldritch-y for you.

Planned Updates

This is another big mod that I have planned, and it's going to take a long time, so, sorry.

Next patch will be a finished version of the Feral Elves (getting rid of all weird artifacts on their models and retexturing their armor and skin a bit more, giving them better animations and maybe adding some VFX), as well as two or three more units for the faction.

After that, I'm going to take a while to implement them into the campaign, as a playable faction or a late-game invasion.

But for now, enjoy the weird glitchy elves!

Compatibility

Compatible with anything. Obviously not balanced for other mods that change battle balance!
