Typhon Armorworks is a subsidiary of Phoenix Fleet Systems, specializing in the creation of planetary vehicles, especially hovertanks. Originally founded as a security organization providing a more permanent support to mining facilities than the Navy or Army, this changed when Phoenix Fleet Systems saw an opportunity to delve into a new market and adopted the corporation, giving them the funding and resources to begin creating and selling their own line of ground vehicles.

Within weeks, the tiny company had grown into a competitive tank manufacturer, though it never left its roots as a security organization, and took full advantage of the allowances of Republic Law to maintain its own corporate military. Today, Typhon is the Republic's primary manufacturer of armed ground vehicles, and has even begun expansion into low altitude aerial vehicles.
