Lernaea's Energy Cannons (Weaponcore)

Description
Requires DarkStar's Weaponcore. Without all of his hard work on weaponcore, this mod would not be possible.

Volume 2 can be found here: Lernaea's Energy Cannons Vol 2. Volume 1 is intentionally a vanilla feel. Volume 2 is my own style.


Adds 8 each fixed dumbfire energy cannons and energy turrets for small and large grid.
MK1A Laser Cannon, MK1B Pulse Cannon, MK1C Plasma Cannon, MK1D Plasma Repeater, MK2A Laser Cannon, MK2B Pulse Cannon, MK2C Plasma Cannon, and MK2D Plasma Repeater.

Cannons:
MK1's do 1000 DPS at 5 KM range (1 KM for C & D) for small grid and 5000 DPS at 8 KM range (1 KM for C & D) for large grid. The MK1's generate heat, but its generally not an issue. MK2's do 12x more damage, but overheat easily and take longer to cool down enough to fire again. This cuts the DPS by half in the weaponcore stats.

Turrets:
MK1's do 500 DPS at 2.5 KM range (1 KM for C & D) for small grid and 2500 DPS at 4 KM range (1 KM for C & D) for large grid. The MK1's generate no heat due to the reduced size and damage. MK2's do double damage, equal to the MK1 fixed variant, but also use the same heat mechanics as the fixed version.

-A variant is a continuous wave laser. 25% bonus vs armor / 25% reduction vs shields.
-B variant is a pulse laser with more damage up front but a cooldown between bursts. 25% bonus vs shields / 25% reduction vs armor.
-C variant fires a slow moving plasma projectile that explodes on impact. 25% bonus vs non armor blocks / 25% reduction vs both armor and shields. These are for when you've downed the shields and opened a hole in the hull. 1 KM range for all C variants.
-D variant functions similar to a gatling gun, but fires small plasma rounds that create small explosions on impact. No bonuses or reductions. 1 KM range for all D variants.

All emissives set to the color of the block. Just paint them to get the emissive color you want. You can use the battered armor skin set to 100% saturation and 7.5% value to get a nice matte gray box and keep the emissive colors. The scifi recolorable skin works to under 50% value and makes the box shiny black.

All ammo is available in 7 colors: red, blue, cyan, green, purple, orange, yellow. If you add these to a group you can add that group to your hotbar and cycle ammo to change colors. Colors change in the order listed above.

All weapons require thrust components to build. I didn't feel like adding in custom components, but I wanted these to be geared more toward "endgame".

Future Plans:
-Large grid only MK3 supercannon. I already have the models done, I just need to figure out how I want it to function.
-I MIGHT add upgrade modules. I really have no idea how to code, I just plugged numbers and IDs into the weaponcore template. This may be more than I'm capable of.
-I'm not happy with the firing sound I created for the C & D variants. I'll try to come up with a better one.

This is my first mod ever made! I know its just ripped off ion thrusters, but it was a good learning experience and I had fun doing it. Please let me know what you think.

it seems that they have something broken in the hitbox because other turrets cannot shoot these turrets and they cannot shoot the same turrets from the enemy.

Is anyone else getting crashes sometimes when these weapons fire? For me its about 50/50. I have a good pc and other weapons do not cause the same issue

I'm done with SE for the time being. This was mostly a personal mod i made for fun, but I'm glad some of you were able to enjoy it. I won't be taking this down, but I also will not be updating it. If anyone wants to take over, shoot me a DM and we can talk it over.

I havent played SE since around a month after I released this mod. I think you should be able to create a group with the guns you want to change the color for and then add that to your hotbar and set it to change ammo. that should cycle that groups ammo color. just hit that hotkey until you get the color you want.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how you change the colors of the beams there is no conveyor port that I can see, and no ammo that an assembler can make.These things will make my life so much easier if I could figure out how to make and load multicolored ammo into them
