Trafostation - Electric Substation & Switch

Description
THIS MOD INCLUDES TWO BUILDINGS (Electric Switch and Electrin Substation) WHICH BOTH USE THE SAME MODEL AND TEXTURES

WARNING!
Even though the substation has three points to connect to the power grid, it won't work as an Electric Switch.

This is my first attempt at making a building mod/addon, so if you encounter any problems with this mod, please do let me know in the comments.

Hey! Hey you!

Ever wondered why certain buildings have road connections? Residential buildings for example, why do they need to connect to the road system? What's the purpose of it all? Electric substations are the worst offenders, no one ever goes there except for occasional visit from firefighter brigade. Yet if you want them to be able to put out fires at such buildings you need to connect them to the road.

Well screw that! (At least when it comes to substations and switches) With this addon (mod) you can build your very own, compact, pedestrian-path-connected, hopefully-cool-looking substation and switch!

These are slightly more expensive than their vanilla/default counterparts. Roughly around 140% of the cost of vanilla the vanilla buildings. This is to ofset it's advantages over the irrational vanilla substation.

Those advantages are:
Small size.
Compact pedestrian path connection to it.
Three points of connection for the substation.
Looking so cooooooool... I hope.

Ahoj,
když postavím touhle rozvodnu a napojím ji třeba na transformátor, tak dodává normálně proud. Když ale na výstup téhle rozvodny napojím další rozvodnu, tak ta už je bez proudu.
Dá se s tím něco udělat?

Thanks for caring, but I have no intent to fix this. I got disappointed with this game's modding support by the time I released this building and moved on to another things. It's a shame, I was really looking forward to this game and played it a lot when it came out (corona and lockdown helped with that). I had a lot of plans and lot of WIP mods for this game. But later I realised it lacks any challange and I was just wasting time trying to make nice looking cities and industrial areas, which was so much pain since placing down building and infrastructure in this game is so clunky.

I'll take a look at it when it releases from EA, which should be soon. But I doubt much has changed.

I think I finally managed to move the connections far enough to allow for the road and wires to be rebuild if necessary. Feel free to update the mod with these values if you wish.

You can make this compatible with construction offices by replacing the pedestrian connection with a road connection.

I'm trying to wrap my head around how to move connection points. Would like to move the wire connections a bit a away from the model to give a bit more wiggle room if you need to reconnect the road. Also pushing the road connection out would help.

A lot of things have changes since 2020 @Bref. You might want to take an other look at this game. I really like your mods.

Unfortunately I don't have much experience in modding. The only way to go around this issue is through financing construction to foreign enterprise.

Honestly, I don't plan on doing anything about it. I'm bit disappointed by the many flaws of this game and the limited moding support it offers. But if you care about it so much, feel free to modify this Trafostation in any way. I will even provide you my source files, should you need them. If you decide to upload your updated version to Steam Workshop, I'll post link to your version in the description.

It seems the power lines you're placing between these substations cannot be added to construction office task list, because there isn't any regular road connecting the substation.

How about you'll add both road and pavewalk entrances to the building? After construction is done the player will have the option to remove the road manually, leaving only footpath.

Is it possible to make it so that electrical wire connections can be built from the sub station/switch? When trying to use a Construction Office to build the wires going in/out of the building, it says No Road Connection with Construction Office...
