Black Autumn Playermodel Selector v1.95

Descripción
Everything you expect of a playermodel selector, and more! Black Autumn is a replacement for the default playermodel selector with the following key features:
  • Change your playermodel, body groups, skin, player color and weapon color with the push of a button. Everything in one tab!
  • Select your favorite body groups and skin for a playermodel and save them for later use (they'll load automatically the next time you select that playermodel).
  • Apply your playermodel instantly or after respawning, whatever you choose.
  • Create categories with a custom name and add or remove playermodels from them.
  • Customize your viewmodel hands separately from your playermodel (including their body groups and skin too).
  • Enforce your playermodel in gamemodes that use to overwrite it, even when you don't want to (typically TTT).
  • Assign TFA-VOX packs manually to any playermodel you want.
  • Customize all the colors of the GUI (font, background, icons...).
  • Search a model by its name.

It should look fine on most screen resolutions from 1176x664 and up. It should look fine on ultrawide screens too after the v1.72 update.

This's the playermodel selector with the richest set of features that you can find on the workshop by far, it's been widely tested throughout the years and it's the easiest to use. On top of that, not a single LUA error has ever been reported during a time span of 4 years.

How to open it?
  • Through the C menu in Sandbox.
  • Using the console command blackautumn.

New console variables
The addon adds the following three variables to your console, which are very similar to the default console variables of the Sandbox gamemode cl_playermodel, cl_playerskin and cl_playerbodygroups, but in this case they're used to save your hands across sessions:
  • cl_handsmodel: Your saved viewmodel hands model (a path to a mdl file).
  • cl_handsskin: The skin of your saved custom hands (a number).
  • cl_handsbodygroups: The bodygroups of your saved custom hands (example: "0 1 0 0").
These variables are set automatically by the addon every time you equip custom hands and actually you don't need to use them. However, you can set them manually if you want.

Incompatible addons
  • OTHER PLAYERMODEL SELECTORS

Who can save groups and manage categories?
  • In singleplayer, you have full access to all the features.
  • In servers, only admins can manage categories and TFA-VOX packages. Those features are saved server-side and will change from server to server. You won't be able to click on buttons related to those features unless you are an admin.
  • You can save body groups and skins anywhere. These are client-side features and will show up in any server you play (if those servers have those playermodels).

Configuration
  • Everyone can apply playermodels: If enabled, every player on the server will be able to change his playermodel. If disabled, only admins will be allowed to do that.
  • Only apply playermodels on respawn: This will force the addon to work as if it were the default PM selector. Playermodels will only be applied when players die/respawn.
  • Enable Auto Clean (categories + TFA-VOX packages): The playermodels which aren't longer used (uninstalled) will be removed from the server database. Keep it disabled if you want to reinstall them later and preserve their categories and TFA-VOX packages.
  • Enable Auto Clean (playermodels): Same as above, but client-side. This affects saved body groups and skins.
  • Keep custom hands permanently equipped: Don't remove your custom hands after switching to another playermodel.
  • Enforce your playermodel: If this's selected, gamemodes and other addons will never overwrite or remove your current playermodel. Use this with discretion, since side effects may occur.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR TTT SERVER OWNERS
Using the "Enforce your playermodel" setting is a slipshod solution, designed for people who can't or don't want to mess with LUA code. Ideally, you'd leave this setting disabled, and comment out the lines 268 and 269 in gamemodes/terrortown/gamemode/player_ext.lua.

A note on TFA-VOX
TFA-VOX is a modular addon that allows you to add sound packages to playermodels (you can find those packages throughout the workshop). However, sound packages are designed specifically for a single playermodel. In spite of that, this playermodel selector allows you to add TFA-VOX packages to ANY playermodel you want! You can even unassign the specific playermodel that a package is made for, and assign a completely different package to it. Plus, it's also compatible with the "tfa_vox_pack_reload" command.

Unfortunately, TFA-VOX was removed from the workshop by its original creator and multiple reuploads were made. Black Autumn works with both YuRaNnNzZZ's and NextKuromeThe76Soldier's versions, which you can find HERE and HERE. I don't guarantee that it'll work with other versions, you've been warned.

FAQ
  • Why I can't change my playermodel?: Because you're subscribed to an incompatible addon (probably another playermodel selector). Try disabling the rest of your addons temporarily, then enabling them one by one until you find out which one is messing things up. You may need to restart the game.
  • X feature is not working for me: 99% of these issues are due to incompatible addons. Try the solution stated above before reporting an alleged bug.
  • My saved categories disappear after reloading the game: This issue was reported in the past by 1 person, but theorically that can't happen. The addon won't create a new category in your menu unless it has triple checked that such category has been successfully added to the database. The opposite is true as well: no category will be removed from your menu unless it's been removed from the database previously. Anyway, perform an integrity check. Make sure the file called "sv.db" is present in your garrysmod folder.
  • Does this work on dedicated servers?: Absolutely. All features should work on dedicated servers.

Reuploading this addon or any of its contents without permission is not allowed and will result in a report to appropiate authorities.

TTT2 is a different gamemode, so it's only natural that it introduces new code that also changes players' skins. I encourage you to review the gamemode's code if you're interested. Ultimately, you can simply enable 'Enforce your playermodel' in the settings menu.

Hello I don't understand how to make work on my TTT2 server. It's restarting to default always after changing the skins and on next round making me as a Pheonix. Also I commented that two lines in lua still not working.

Yeah, I am on the x86-64 branch, but its still broken. Even when I run it by itself with no other mods, it still breaks.

I am aware of those changes, but I just switched to the x86-64 branch (latest version, 2024.12.13), and everything seems to work normally. It seems there's a new 'open_playermodel_selector' console command, which can be used interchangeably with 'blackautumn', but that's all.
