Marines as workboats

This mod allows Marines to build Fishing Boats improvements similar to the Japanese Samurai unit. In addition to this they can also build Offshore Platforms on sources of Oil.

This is useful for when you settle inland and your borders expand onto coastal tiles that have resources on them. Marines can improve these resources so you won't have to settle a coastal city if you want to improve your coastal oil.
