Nearly perfect remake of one of my favourite games of all time.

GAMEPLAY
Extremely fun and addictive, just like the original, but with several improvements. Stronger enemies and higher difficulty overall, and a few new enemy types. More fast paced and action oriented, while also keeping a nice horror vibe similar to the other REmakes. A ton of collectibles, sidequests, it even has optional superbosses. Definitely one of the best horror action games ever made, an overall improvement over the original across the board.

GRAPHICS & SOUND
Looks really good and runs even on weaker machines. I've never had a crash or issue, the overall experience was bug free.
The atmosphere is top notch, and so far it's the best looking game on RE Engine. Very high res textures and high quality environments, top tier lighting and special effects. Enemy dismemberment and gore looks incredible, and so do the monsters and mutated humans you will fight. Top tier animation work as well.

Music is good but sound effects are really incredible. Highly recommended to play with a nice set of headphones or surround sound. Voice acting is great for the most part, Ada sounds a bit stiff, but not a big deal imo. Enemy cries and voices are amazing, and vastly improved over the original.

STORY & CHARACTERS
The game has a different tone compared to the more campy original. It's now much darker and more realistic and serious. Leon still makes sarcastic comments and overall I would say that it's not necessarily better than the original, but different, yet still good. Ashley was vastly improved as well, and I hope she will return to the series sometimes. Does not contain any woke or lgbt content, which is always a plus in my opinion. Some lewd elements of the originals have been removed.

VERDICT
An amazing game, definitely one of the best remakes ever made, if not the best overall. A worthy successor of the original, which was on its own one of the most influential games ever made. God tier gameplay that is extremely fun and addictive seals the deal.
