This game... so lemme explain one thing first before I sing the praises of this game, I used to play Men of War Assault Squad 2 constantly since it was the only RTS game of its kind that had a modding community and that I found fun.

I modded it constantly, Valor and the like... but Gates of Hell? It is a entirely different breed.

Mods are somewhat easy to use, the campaign is actually somewhat challenging at points, the mods are MUCH more diverse, and there is finally a practical use for gun range increasing mods.

To say its a outright improvement on Men of War is just about as spot on as it gets, though it's lacking the diversity of nations of Men of War that is easy to fix with mods and I assume that the lack of other nations will be addressed in time especially since they've just added Finland.

To put it bluntly, this is a perfect RTS game if you enjoy Steel Division 2, Men of War, and just generally WW2 RTS as a whole.
