Great game in many respects, though I find its restrictions to be, well, too restricting. The fact that certain essential concepts like primogeniture are simply inaccessible when playing at 867, even as civilizations which did in fact have primogeniture, I find to be quite absurd in many respects and simply frustrating. But most such issues can simply be resolved by mods. Now my biggest issue without a doubt, is the soldier count. It is absurdly and unrealistically low. To see the Abbasids ruling their large empire with only a meagre force of 4500 for example is cripplingly unrealistic and immersion breaking, and truly goes at the detriment of many other realism-oriented aspects of the game. Aside from these bothersome issues, its undoubtedly the game I have had the most fun playing since quite a while and recommend it to anyone who likes to execute their fantasies of alternative history.
