Well well, DayZ

Years ago I found myself craving a survival experience, I had played a tonne of Minecraft, but wanted something... more extreme. So I looked into the Crafting Dead mod at the time, and was instantly enamoured, Yet little did I know I was essentially playing DayZ in Minecraft

I came to DayZ years later, after some friends of mine had the game, I bought it at 1AM on the spot and downloaded it. Instantly falling in love with it. Yet this was back in 2019 (April, roughly) shortly after 1.0 released. And a weird time that was, development was dicey, communication was relatively lacking, and it seemed every update brought with it a new bug that would break the game for a few weeks until a fix was pushed. Yet despite this I couldn't put the game down, the environment, tense interactions, funny moments and intense firefights kept me playing consistently through everything

Yet since then, developer communication has significantly improved, updates are coming out in a much more timely manner, and when they do, bugs are minor/very quickly addressed when discovered, and generally in terms of stability the game is in a phenomenal state, with a bright future ahead (next major update is just around the corner) Worth noting you can also download "DayZ Experimental" to test new updates before they go live in order to squash any unwanted bugs

Stepping out of merely the game though. During the height of Covid, and at a rough time for me personally, I had been frustrated with the game, as most of my friends wanted to play boosted loot, trader servers, but it just, wasn't fun to me, I wanted a hardcore survival experience, and now Vanilla was just, mundane to me. Then I found Dayz Underground, coming for the hardcore CLE (Which I can confidently say makes damn near any other server a cakewalk) and being hooked in by the interactions, deep and rick lore of the server/factions present there, and all the friends I've made along the way

It's discounted now too, but I would definitely say it's worth the full price (Never gonna complain about a cheeky discount though ;) )

This is 1000% a game you should try if you like survival games where literally anything can happen, not to mention the modding support (PLEASE if you get this game, once you find your feet, try the Namalsk map, it will blow your MIND I swear to you)
