My best game. Plays well, F2P and P2P, but not FORCING you to have to be P2P. One of the many reasons why I love this game. A few rough updates recently, but still extremely fun to play and recommended to anyone who likes a fun FPS. (Also has conga).

Well. The game certainly has gone through some rough patches recently, and with the uprising of Overwatch diverting many players away, it has suffered immensely.
Despite this, the community is still thriving and TF2 has started working back up. With the recent release of the Jungle Inferno update, the game is set to stay strong for more years.

WELL. I'm afraid to say that TF2 is in a pretty sorry state. A lack of updates and a bot crisis has damaged the game, most likely irreparably. I hope for updates and a solution to the bot epidemic, but given the lack of said treatment for the past 5 years, it seems unlikely.

Despite ALL of this, I still thoroughly enjoy this game. The wide range of community servers, vanilla or modded, provide a place to enjoy the game free from interference by AI. And, above all else, the community still stands strong, with a large active player-base still keeping the game surprisingly alive.

Ergo, if you want a fun experience that'll get you hooked like it did me, and don't mind trudging through the pains named above, you'll find a gem, albeit a little chipped.

Progress against bots, new gamemodes and maps, consistent bugfixes. Y'know, it's not perfect, but we appreciate the effort put in. And, as ever, the community stays strong, powering through the years as a staple in gaming history.

03/06/2024. I'm changing this review to negative, simply so Valve notices the state the game is in. This doesn't change my feelings, this is still my favourite game of practically all time, I simply choose to do my part in ensuring Valve puts in the work necessary to save this game.

Remove the Bots.
Provide a functioning Anti-Cheat.

11/07/2024. They actually noticed. Massive banwaves and confirmation of the final TF2 comic being worked on has truly revived this game from the brink. I can't say to whether we will get more treadmill work done by Valve, or if we will ever see a proper update in the future, but we managed to get them to notice, and they're actually doing something. This review is positive again, Gabe has smiled upon us once again!
