The Bard's Tale IV is something I really wanted to like. Having been a fan of D&D and Pathfinder for a while now this game immediately caught my interest. Sadly I can barely play it on my PC (i7-7770 processor, NVIDIA 1060 3gb VRAM and 16 gigs of RAM) I thought my PC could handle it, since it was able to play AC Odyssey on High at 60fps. This game is really poorly optimized at the moment so I would stick to Pillars of Eternity Deadfire or Pathfinder Kingmaker for a more playable D&D experience. Mechanically I really like the class and progession system and charaters are engaging! I am looking forward to repurchasing and re-reviewing.

thank you for your feedback on BT4. We are sorry that you had such a bad experience with the game, and we are very sad that you were not able to play it properly. We will work hard to ensure that something like this will not happen again in the future.

During the last weeks, we released several patches, and we are confident that nearly all current known issues have been resolved at this point. We also upgraded the visuals and several other things.

We hope you will have enjoy BT4 from now on, and that you appreciate the journey down into Barrows Deep. If for some reason you still encounter things you don´t like, please let us know. Of course, the same applies if you like the changes and the overall game, we would love to hear from you. If you even consider to change your review into a positive one, we would be very happy.

It isn't everyday that you recieve a response from a developer and for that Michael I thank you for reaching out. From what I have seen in your recent patch notes I am optimistic in the preformance optimization and I will definitley be getting The Bard's Tale IV a second chance during the next Steam Sale! I am looking forward to changing my review!
