Early Access Review
This review is based off the current build. As this is early access I'm sure some parts of this review will be irrelevant in a few weeks or months.

Map building: 9/10 - Would love to be able to group tiles together to have a sudo-asset that I can delete, manipulate or copy much faster. They mentioned that they will be adding more water options later but as of right now you only have one water level and no water tiles so making waterfalls is not really possible in its current state. There are lots of tiles to choose from but not so many that its overwhelming. I feel confident that I can build whatever map I might wish to build (within the fantasy realm) using the tools provided with minimal compromises. Its impressive to me how large the maps can be without severe performance hits.

Lighting 6/10 - As of right now you get only a few light sources that are not able to have their settings adjusted so it can be extremely limiting in that sense. What I would like to see in the future is the ability to place the light source and adjust the color, brightness, intensity, range, and flicker patterns the light can reach. It would also be nice to place texture-less light so I don't have to depend on global light settings or assets to provide light.

As a Game Master 8/10 - I haven't played as a player yet but as a Game Master the biggest annoyance right now is that there is no way to copy paste monster minis, which means you have to place all your minis ahead of time and manually set the stats for each one. Game Master layer is amazing coming from roll20. I just push tab and can interact with both the items on the "GM Layer" and the "Token Layer". Its such a simple feature but I really hate having to switch layers in roll20 so it stands far out in my mind.

Rules/Character Sheets 0/10 - This feature is not yet implemented so you have to use a third party system in order to actually play. I'm looking forward to being able to (hopefully) use this software exclusively but for now we will use Roll20's character sheets, which thankfully is easy to use both systems at once. A couple of my friends claim its not that bad even having only one monitor. Just change TaleSpires resolution to a lower one in windowed mode so you can quickly switch between the two.

Connection 10/10 - Right now connection is dependent on connecting to their servers. They claim that in the future there will be plans on allowing peer to peer, but I have had no issues with their servers so I am not wishing for them to rush implementing it.

TL:DR - I really like this software and am willing to put up with its current shortcomings because what it delivers is outstanding and it will only get better as it continues to be developed. 8/10

-Edit: I forgot to add that even if you don't think you want to add the time it takes to build a map or whatever, you can go to a website like https://talesbazaar.com/ and copy paste a map someone has made already and use that. AMAZING! Also they plan on opening the game up to modders so eventually there will be no shortage of assets you will have access to.
