I think this is by far one of the best if not the best civil war games or musket era strategy games available. The battles remind me a lot of ultimate general as well as the way you set up armies. I think there could definitely be more customization in forming or reinforcing units (like different numbers), though this may be in the game and I just don't know how to do it. The game is VERY complicated, and the tutorials don't do a brilliant job at teaching you everything in a quick manner, though that is hard to do with this kind of game. The campaign for e is very reminiscent of the Total War series, which I love. There is a lot to customize too, kind of like a paradox game though less complicated then most of those. Anyway let me end this with a quick note. If you have played Empire Total War and could stand the bugginess of those battle you will be just fine with these battles. I saw some reviews complaining about bugs, but I've encountered only ONE battle where something BS happened.
