It is an Early Access Game. Undeniable there are a lot of problems left to solve (netcode, balance, general optimization, tutorials for beginner etc.) yet it is still quake at the end of the day and you can feel that. Although now - apparently due to the modern twisted times - it is a F2P design and yes, there is all this cancer stuff that comes with it. Lootboxes, battle passes (only for cosmetics!!), always-online experience, no server browser, matchmaking and so on.

But despite all this if you are good at the basics of what made quake great you will enjoy this. People try to p i s s on it saying it is a MOBA shooter or whatever. It is not. Yes you have abilities, no they are not the big gamechanger, actually a recent patch reduced overall significance of all this champion-related active & passive abilities stuff.

Which brings me to the most important point. The game is constantly being worked on, the devs are dropping patches and listen to the community (e.g. when anarki was super weak or the horrible LG change at one point in time) despite what the haters are saying and you can never please everyone, especially in this community it seems.

TL;DR - This game is really fun, tons of action, modes and good old arena style fragging with a little modern champion twist. Still Quake, a lot of patches dropping, constant improvements, we are getting there slowly but steadily.
I hope this game gets huge, it is an awesome feeling & satisfying to frag in QC. Dont play this on any potato pc. See you in the arena!

EDIT2: It does have its problems, especially the lack of maps, but hell it is still quake. I cant let go & luckily still enough people are playing it, queuing works good in EU and I have a lot of fun fragging. As a cherry on top it is also really nice to look at.
