Just WOW !! Didn't realize until this moment that I'd never left a review of this Outstanding game, that is truly one of my all-time Favorites. And, I've been playing it since launch in 2015. Is it Challenging? Check. Is it Rewarding? Check. But most importantly, Is it Fun? Check.
From the helpful, hand-holding Tutorial to the brutally difficult advanced Challenges, I wholeheartedly recommend this one for your library. While, the early version of Planetbase had nice graphics for the times, the 2024 Update (experimental branch at the moment) is much sharper and up-to-date for newer rigs. Pleasing to see Madruga Works showing the dedication to revisit this strong game. Kudos! (FYI - the graphics even on Ultra don't push the GPU very hard, as my temps stay mostly in the 40's C range on a Sapphire RX 7800 XT at 3440 x 1440).
Planetbase will test your skills, and your patience, since colonizing a new world can be very unforgiving of any lack of planning. The man -vs- the environment theme can be brutal when a meteor dials in one of your key facilities, taking much-needed personnel with it. My advice is to save Save SAVE, so that you can hopefully have a do-over.
Planetbase is an excellent game and priced right for any budget. Enjoy! Cheers
