Great metroidvania for beginners, for a huge reason: the "teleport anywhere on the map" ability. Unlock that first, then you can conquer the game screen by screen, without backtracking, while exploring at your own pace. Combat is awesome, platforming is fine, aerial acrobatics are accessible, the story is interesting.... Even if you don't usually play metroidvanias, try this one.

Still charming and heartwarming and heart-wrenching after all these years.

Beautiful puzzle platformer that focuses on telling a story with no words. At first it seems kid-focused, and overall it's much more of a walking simulator than a puzzler, but the difficulty ramps seriously in the end. (Hint: if you have trouble with the bosses, turn the quick time events off from the accessibility menus.) All in all, if you love Another World, Limbo, Inside, Braid or Little Nightmares, you'll like this one, despite its lots of filler, err, contemplative moments :) and its gameplay mechanics that feel less fluid than all of these classics. If you don't care for achievements and secrets, you'll probably spend 4 hours on the Planet of Lana.

Generous solitaire implementation that's not 100% luck-based - you get jokers, you get abilities, you can grind your way out of pesky levels. Casuals should flock and play this. Hardcore solitaire aficionados might feel this is too easy, even in hard mode, especially because the layouts aren't "auteur" solvable puzzles , but randomly generated. I liked it enough to 100% it, anyway, although the romcom story clearly isn't for me. Looking forward to Gray Alien's next solitaire RPG :)

Simple roguelite shooter that's well worth the 3 euro. The controller implementation is good, gameplay is fun (just remember - don't rush, this game rewards concentration), there's a ton of challenges and content to unlock (OK, maybe the progression is slower than I'd like, but I'll probably 100% this anyway once achievements are added) and it's got co-op. What's not to like? Frankly, the only thing that prevents this from being a perfect little cool game is the name :) Joke aside, it's actually the lack of Steam Achievements. (I hope there won't be any inhuman ones like "beat the Villain without dying once in the run")

Atmosphere is great, art direction is cool, the documentary game concept is awesome, and yet I can't recommend the game itself for a very simple reason: I hate games with fuzzy controls that require precision timing and targeting. In the beginning, when the game is a simple platformer, controls are still OK-ish (although you can only progress by dying, over and over and over again) ; but once the fox starts flying and needs to discover spirits and maneuver them, when the game turns into a puzzle, it becomes extremely frustrating. And the expansion, Fox Tales, gets even worse - all the nice ideas are marred by the (censored) implementation: loved the boat idea, hated the boat controls; loved the half underwater / half above water idea, hated the fuzzy spirits implementation, and so on. A classic example of nice ideas, awful execution.

The art style is the most immediately striking aspect, but Dordogne is also a laid-back adventure with a message for kids and adults alike. Some minigames are boring, but they don't take too long to complete, and exploration is such a joy you'll ignore the other gameplay shortcomings.

Early Access Review
Tiny Cool Game I'll probably play for way longer than I should. It already has that "one more level" quality - and it's astonishingly polished. Controller implementation rocks.

Pretty, polished, but extremely boring. Your movement and attacks are slow, and yet you're time bound - you need to level up as quickly as possible before the final boss arrives (portals are supposed to help with moving around, but you need to discover them first so it defeats the purpose). Attacks are telegraphed by seconds; the only way to lose is when the game becomes unfair and mobs you out of the blue, or sticks you in place (damn treants!). Currently, the game is balanced for co-op; in-game missions can't be achieved solo unless you're really lucky. I'll probably return later; right now, in early access, this isn't for me.
