(Actually double review: Day 1 and Post Completion)
Post Completion Review (20hrs later)

It's a very average linear shooter with outdated graphics.

In-game powers remind a lot of Rage 2, e.g. double jumping, bursting enemies and melting them in a swift sequence. Upgraded character is a non-stoppable killing machine. Cooldowns are reduced to seconds, enemies attack in small groups, and you haven't even pulled out a gun.

What about guns?
They fall into several categories: pistols, heavy, special and basic. I've run mostly with only 2 guns (Heavy Stubber and Bolter). You may slightly modify them: add bigger damage module, more ammo to carry and buy a dark skin for a big sum.

Want a better gun? Pray the gods of RNG that next chests will spit one out. Otherwise, buy a weapon of lower damage output between missions.

Missions...
Quite short and linear. I only remembered these: train map, sudden drill escape episode, genestealer dome and a fight in a freezer.

No more crashes: had over 50-70 before the first patch!

Ahem, Necromunda is a game for a few evenings. A week, maybe, if you hunt perfect "A" rank for the achievement. An interesting game for WH40 fans, others may skip it.

===========================

This is a Day-1 Release Review.
I haven't finished the game yet (only on 4th Chapter).

Scroll down to whatever interests you most:
1) How it Runs?
2) Crashes.
3) Doggy!
4) Graphics.
5) Ah, yes, gameplay.

It runs alright. Maxed out settings (except for shadows), quick loading and no observed freezes. And that't on my old rig with GTX 1070 and i5-7600.

However, already had five (or six) crashes. 2 occurred in the middle of intense fights, felt a bit "really..."
few happened in menus and 1 when was closing the game. Hm... And I still have 3/4 of the game to continue!

I barely play games where you must evolve your pets. So... I tried maxing out my doggy.

Biggest drawback - dog often sits surrounded by enemies and doesn't attack them. Even after spamming the attack button. Not sure if that's a lack of skill points or actual dog's AI.
Biggest wow - augmented dog looks "wow!".

Unfortunately, overall picture and textures are "meh". And that's with maxed out textures and other settings. It's... blurry. Traditionally only lights are superb and areas with lava forges, sewers beacons naturally distract you.
Models and faces are worse than Rage 2. Recall now, how old is Rage 2?

Luckily, here comes gameplay. And it's fast paced. You may run walls and shoot targets below you.
Drop down and activate special skills to melt, kick, instant kill (which is a bit OP as you're invincible in a crowd when doing so).
Bringing up Rage 2 again: there, when you double-jump and then plummet towards an enemy, you'd see a juicy blood splash. Here, in Necromunda - nothing alike. Bodies just fall dead, unbroken, with minor bullet holes.

Playing on the hardest difficulty surprisingly provides a lot of ammo - I've never been out of bullets yet!
Discovered weapons (around 10) don't really catch the eye, but there's 2 brilliant shotguns which I ended up using a lot.
Once found the plasmagun, but died before managed to carry it to the checkpoint.

Shortly after the first missions, you get extra contracts to complete and you may replay previous story missions, so you can
accumulate more credits, find missed loot chests and etc-etc.

At its current release state Necromunda is a nice game, worth its price and I'm sure it will keep me busy for a week or so.

Me, trying DRG for the first time: ok, I'll play it a bit.
Also me, after 200hrs: hang on...

Scroll down to whatever interests you most:
1) Highly addictive.
2) Replay value.
3) Graphics
4) Achievements and grind.

Highly addictive? It is!
A lot of fun with friends and random players. Gameplay is simple: shoot enemies and collect objective minerals, but...
under different circumstances DRG easily gets challenging.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2492518632

Play more and as your characters gain levels, upgrade gear, unlock perks, earn weapon modules. Then test them!
Ride zip-lines across a wide cave, shooting flies. Falling in a hole? Active hovering boots!
Freeze enemies and whack them with an axe. Throw a powerful c4 and obliterate entire cave (please don't!)

Replay value
So we have 7 mission types.
From casual caves exploration and minerals hunting to complex pipes building and intensive escort duty with strategic defences. Now, multiply them (missions) by 4 unique playable dwarfs. Different weapons and gears! Totally opposed styles.
Working as a team does miracles: frozen enemies dies faster, given platform allows to collect minerals in a jiffy, a decoy and shield give breathing room.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2480799986

Then, multiply again by 10 dangerous planet sectors, each offering individual flora, environment and landscape: icy floor can suddenly shatter and swallow your team, magma streams will burn through armour, while in other areas you can use a flying creature to, ahem, fly around.
Now mix with minor mutators i.e. low oxygen, low gravity, increased amount of certain bugs, rich minerals, etc, and consider players' factor (experienced and new ones), and you cant even expect what you get in a new mission.

Graphics is minimalistic, yet cute.
Fantastic job done in lights!
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2414010524
If you dislike cubic models, I can assure that you'll get used to it real quick. Seriously, you get swarm to shoot!

Grind begins with characters' promotion.
At the moment, a gold rank for every dwarf is required, where each takes roughly 80-100hrs to get there. I spent around 300hrs to make everyone golden.

Somehow, there are more achievements with barrels (ride them, kick them, shove in specific areas), than enemies-kills related. Others, purely missions completion count.

Overall, it's easily one of the best 4 player coop game with a great welcoming community. Grab it, hook your friends up and mine gold, spamming "For Rock and Stones!"

Played "the Tales..." first time in 2021, after all other Borderlands series and Telltale games were completed.
It's no different from other Telltales games, i.e. QTE and dialogue selections are there for you to engage.
But it massively differs, if comparing "the Tales's..." story-telling to Borderlands narration manner and fights.

https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2402679971

1) Humour is nice.
Read a lot how the it's overwhelmingly amazing, and... to me all its jokes, funny moments (and gross ones!) on a scale from 1 to 5, easily go to 4. If taking Borderlands FPS humour, then its mark would barely be 2.

2) Fight sequences are long and not 1-2 seconds shots by an overpowered player.
The encounter with a vault guardian goes for multiple stages: preparations, crew set up, planning, everyone's participation and various combat styles.

"The Tales..." delivers fights from various angels:
  • shooting while swinging being tight upside down,
  • attacking and defending while in races or in chase motions,
  • driving episodes are intense and you end up jump from/to yours/enemies trucks, kicking thugs and swearing!
We need these in BL FPS games!

3) Music is fantastic! Songs fit great to openings and credits.
There are few themes from Borderlands 2, but that will be it.

Check these out on youtube (well, it's my top3, you may like others more)
Twin Shadow - To The Top (Episode 4 Intro)
First Aid Kit - My Silver Lining (Episode 5 End Credits)
Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra feat. Nino Mochella - Kiss The Sky (Episode 2 Intro)

I've played several wastelands/apocalyptic games, but the only real fun, gore and entertaining - is Bulletstorm.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1558159508
The game is quite linear shooting blast-through experience, containing all sorts of crazy parts:
  • getting drunk and shooting enemies,
  • launching/directing your bullets shards and grinding through enemies. Torture them the way your inner sadist favour *_*
    https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1562873396
  • building up combos with your guns and enviromental kills (so-so-so many options!),
  • controlling a giant RC "toy" Godzilla!
  • then flying in a copter and shooting even a larger alive kaiju!!!
    https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1562873698
  • escaping from falling dams (my favourite part), falling skyscraper and aggravated mutants - all of these in a fast pace and tense music!
No, you dont need to look for collectables! Run, shoot and have all possible fun!

Oh, the main character is a witty-trouble boy, listen closely to his jokes and quotes.
The huge minus for not including story coop. There's challenge maps where coop exists, but they lack all of the campaign excitement.

Mafia II: Definitive Edition.
Reviewing (skip to whatever interests you most):
1) Similarity with GTA-series.
2) Missions.
3) Cars.
4) Police.
5) Bugs.

1) GTA?
Someone, who never played Mafia series before (me!), may think it's like a GTA game.
And he'll be 50% wrong.
There's 3rd person view, driving involved and various cars available, plus missions where you shoot enemies and escape from police. That's about all similarities with GTA.

Free roaming is limited: you play chapters, each containing 1-2 missions. You want to explore - explore during the missions.
You've completed a mission? Next chapter starts. Plus the only time game saves - once a mission starts, cannot save up manually (wtf :D )
However, there's not much to explore - the city is small and not used up to its potential.
While in GTA games you end up fighting in multiple locations, in Mafia II you repeat the same route: safe home - diner - thug factory.

A character only carries two weapons and any food - any - sandwich or a drink, will replenish all of his health. No need to worry about becoming chubby as in SA. ;)

The only collectibles you may care about: playboy magazines. And they must be picked up during missions.
No, there is no mini-games like rampage, cannot earn money in taxi, ambulance or catching criminal. Forget it.

2) Missions.
About missions. I can only name few memorable:
a) dressing up as window cleaners and blowing up the meeting window from outside,
b) delivering a car with broken breaks from the top of a hill
c) aaand digging up a grave while drunk.

All missions are quite serious, so tiny-little room left for jokes (there are some, but only a few).

Main game is short. But its 3 DLCs (each!) just about a little shorter than the base game, minus videos before/after a mission.
Heavily love two expansions about Mr. Clean (lol), bold guy citing his kills and drifitng around.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2378749944
DLCs somehow stand out, they played slightly differently, involve new landscapes (snow lakes, more port fights).

Two things I loved a lot: cars (driving) and police.
3) Driving.
Vehicles! Somehow simple, but authentic physics and damage behaviour. You damaged your ride too bad?
It will smoke and stall, get out and fix an engine. ... you may also run-out of fuel.
You can also customize you license plate and colour the whole car.
When drive away with snow - it will gradually melt. But no shooting from a car. Errr...

4) Cops!
They will chase you by two factors:
a) if witnessed committing a crime in cloth, they run after until you change it.
b) If spotted stealing a car, driving one in a wanted outfit - its license plate instantly becomes wanted, be sure to change few numbers in a garage.
The higher wanted level (4 stars max), the quicker they will spot you in a car in a wanted cloth.
Funny enough, you can hide in covers, behind cars and they lose interest:
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2376902031

Oh, police also wants to fine you after a collision or speeding. The later somewhat inconsistent: driving above limits in a city is fine, driving within max on a motorway - is not. Eh?

5) Optimization.
Overall - very smooth and runs perfectly. Nothing game-breaking. Yay!
However, experienced minor graphical glitches: NPCs walking through textures, blurry faced, or.. this thing D:
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2378748540

And yes, I still would recommend Mafia II Definitive Edition. ;)

Monster Jam Steel Titans is a colourful arcade racing game with a horrible physics
,
where 25% go for actual racing and 75% for arena stunts. Combine these two and you may (or may not!) enjoy the game.

The racing parts are unusually simple. One mode only - be the first truck to reach checkpoints.
Your path will lie through woods, dirt roads, canyons, or in later career sections - in circled arenas.
What's the catch? Slightest - I underline it - SLIGHTEST turn, or a log, stone, whatever really - will send your car flipping, flying, spinning off course.

Situation goes 100 times worse in the stunts mode, which is the main focus of MJST.
You need to perform backflips, two wheels rides, chain up combos to out score opponents.
But how the heck are you supposed to do it, if:
a) driving at the slowest speed,
b) even surface with all 4-wheels,
INSTANTLY ruins your combo and your truck becomes possessed, insanely twitching and whirling around?!

I'll tell you how. Don't even try to build up a perfect combo. Don't try to be precise and be on time to beat it.
Instead, go ape and drive like a lunatic! Worked for me, lol.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2385912558

Deliberately ruining combos and stunts somehow does the trick - you get 10x multiplier, various flips and jumps, resulting in highest score done in the short time.

Apart from the career mode, you can free roam in an open map (forest area, canyons and desert).
The only thing to do there: collect yellow triangles (only needed for the achievement) and... that's it.
Well, those will keep you busy for couple hours, for some you need to find a suitable hill to ramp on, for others - descend into a hidden corner of a map.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2385914290

MJST is a short game, which could have been improved with coop. Well, not in this title.
Soundtrack is somewhat light instrumental w/o kick in energy. Where's beef?
Nevertheless, I'm glad I played MJST and happy to recommend it as a quickie racing arcade :D

Seen - is a must play for those, who enjoyed Limbo and Inside.
It shares very similar minimalistic visual style (just a bit brighter), delivers pretty much exact platforming experience, and surprises with peaceful IDM music on the background (wish there was Score DLC).

At the moment (18.01.21), the game is very short: about an hour long. It's still in Early Access.
It consists of:
1) few running sequences, where a player must pick up as many glowing spheres as possible, same time jumping over obstacles.
2) solving puzzles, either plugging correct sockets in room, running in correct lanes, or pressing specific tiles.
3) and... there is quite a cruel moment, sooo... try not to overreact.

P.S. Add an option to buy him an ice-cream, for Christ sake!

Deliver us the Moon is...
... an enjoyably good walking simulator.

Story/game progression is heavily based how well you walk/jump/run, heh.
Each third of the game is you bypassing enemies, jumping over obstacles and running for oxygen.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2345708538

Only few puzzles... "puzzles", right: all you do is dragging ladders from/to different levels,
pressing opening buttons to access locked storage and switching power-cells from sockets.

Graphics and story - these two components heavily saturate local gameplay.
Moon surface, the Sun, lasers, constant chase to fix the energy supply
and find out what happened at the station.. yeah, these are main cornerstones.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2344701261

Best moments in the game?
1) At the reactor, hiding from its pulsation.
2) Chaotic return to the station, while running low on oxygen.
3) Aligning aerials and related mini-games.
https://steamoss.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2345707905

I wish there were more, a lot more puzzles, but at the same time I'm glad the game turned out short.
For anyone reading this review and craving for more brainteasers, try space-themed puzzles: The Turing Test and The Swapper.
