Chivalry 2 offers the same fast paced medieval action of the first game and fans of that game will find a lot to love here, but the biggest question most people will have is; "Is it better than Mordhau?" The answer to this question is what you are looking to get out of the game.

In terms of game play, Chivalry 2 is much more faster paced than Mordhau and leans towards a more arcade feel. That isn't to say that Chivalry 2 is just an "arcade shooter", but I would say Chivalry 2 is much more user friendly and easier to pick up and master than Mordhau. The mechanics of attacking and blocking are much easier in Chivalry 2, although it will take time to truly master the ins and outs of combat.

The class system is one of the defining features of the original Chivalry and it makes its return here with a few tweaks, but I still feel that it is limiting when compared to Mordhau. Being able to build the soldier that you want is much better in Mordhau and the customization is amazing.

Where I think Chivalry 2 truly shines is in the map design arena as Torn Banner has once again shown they know how to design fun and engaging places to decapitate people with a broad sword. Although Mordhau's maps weren't bad, they are not nearly has fun to fight in and the objectives were limited. That said, I did fall through the world a few times on Chivalry 2 maps, but that isn't an overall game breaker.

Overall, I would say if you loved the first Chivalry you will enjoy this game just as much. If you are trying to decide between this and Mordhau I would suggest this game just for the mere fact that its pick up and play are easier, the map design is amazing, and there are more people playing it currently as of this writing.
