With the pacing of a 60s movie and a daunting, steep learning curve, Elite Dangerous is a one of those games you're going to 1) want multiple monitors so that you can furiously google while travelling, 2) find a wise and patient yogi to guide you through things via voice chat, and 3) something more than a keyboard and mouse. It's incredibly rewarding once you get a handle on flipping all the buttons and understanding all the interactions. It has MMO-style open public play and PVP that is all completely optional - you can play solo, or just with friends, to practice social distancing in a to-scale model of the Milky Way.
